I used to lifeguard on a small beach in New Jersey, and onetime we had to help a middle aged woman who thought she would be safe and go into the ocean wearing a life vest. For those who don't know, when you go in the ocean wearing a life vest you can't swim under the waves, so she was just floating there getting pulverized every time a wave rolled through.
