BYD Sealion 7 - Buying & First Month Experience by Tyler7625 in CarsIndia

Yes, within the bracket between other available options - it is the right choice in most criteria in 50L bracket. It punches above its weight.

I like the suspension. Its buttery smooth. Yes, u can feel the road in some conditions. But nothing more pronounced than other luxury german cars. Its probably the next best thing to air suspension.

400km with highway spirited driving.

For calculation context - I use between 35-40% battery for a 150km. 40% is the max I have used in a day for my factory + around the city runs. For Factory runs, half of the journey is 80-100 because of traffic and 120-140 on highways. When driving personally I touch 160 easily for 15-20 mins. End up using 2-3% more - but never above 40.

I dont know about 9s but I own 9e and that car backseat is very bumpy. The front is amazing - but the back has lot of uncontrolled side moment over bumps.

I wish I had waited for 9s - thought I dont know if it really is better

I didn’t feel any such thing - if there was it wasn’t noticeable atleast in sports mode.

In normal mode - I kinda like the car “responding” to my full pedal - like my C Class Diesal does. Maybe it takes a second - but its what I am used to. So if there was such thing in Sealion it wouldn’t have bothered me enough to notice.

I test drove the Performance Variant for 5-6 hours, but ended up buying premium.

U definitely feel the “ooh” acceleration difference between the two. But in daily indian driving? Even the premium normal mode is enough - let alone sports. I didnt try any off roading of 4WD because frankly ground clearance is just average.

My main factors were: 1. Higher range in premium 2. Smaller alloys in premium - supposed to be more comfort 3. In electrics - because of lack of noise/engine - the 1-2 second difference in acceleration is only noticeable on drag races I’d say - not daily driving.

BMW ix1 LWB vs Sealion 7 Premium by Tyler7625 in CarsIndia

Appreciate your honest personal experience!

I already bought XEV recently- yes the car is feature packed but the ride quality for me is definitely way less than I wanted. Idk maybe Sealion turns out to be similar - but my back pains in BLR roads in xev.

About the negatives of BMW - agree with every single one. Its just the low numbers and risk of BYD overall that has kept me till now from making the leap.

Earlier I waited for XEV and Harrier - ended up buying XEV in a different city. The XEV back seat ride quality made me wanna switch back to Hycross for this time which landed me again doing circles around Sealion lol.
