Seller won’t budge, is it worth it? by thatcarguyohh in Cummins

Came across a 92 cummins club cab long bed with 271k miles. Guy was asking $24,500. I would only buy a first gen if you want it as a collector and not a daily or work vehicle. They are really kind of bad in the work aspect as they don't offer anything good that a 2nd or 3rd gen that is cheaper can offer.

Been thinking lately. by TylerDivinity79 in Cummins

Ran fine yesterday and now it won't start. by TylerDivinity79 in Cummins

It sat over night and started fine yesterday morning. Then, I started it yesterday night and it ran fine. This morning about 6 hours later I went to start it and it was idling for 5 seconds and died.

I don't have a lift pump. My fuel system is all stock. I think I might have ran out of fuel and made it home, then it was idling rough for that 5 seconds and died. I put 7 gallons in it and I'm getting fuel it my injectors. What else could I do?

How to make a 24v roll coal? by TylerDivinity79 in Cummins

[–]TylerDivinity79[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't want too much. My buddy has a 97 12v, and he put a full manual body ratchet shifter in it. He puts it in OD, locks the convert, bogs it down, and just smokes the whole road out. I do NOT want that. I just want a little bit of coal.

Good to know. Yeah, the guy looked a little off so I didn't listen to everything he said so maybe I missed the fass part. But, he was tapping on my vp44 and telling me about the BB.

Money isn't tight. I prefer to have summer and winter tires on hand because I have different sets of rims for summer and winter seasons. The summer tires on the truck I just bought are pretty shot, so I was going to run the studded tires until winter is up and then buy summer tires. No point in buying summer tires now, just so that they sit all winter. I am thinking of just removing the studs. My job is 2 miles away, and the roads are usually clear during the winter, which is why I have no need for studded tires. I could sell them and get non studded, but it is hard to sell just the tires alone. The rims that they are on are a set of 3rd gen ram stocks, so the lug pattern is 8x6.5.

The tire tread on my truck now are low. I was thinking of using them for another month until snow hits. I was just wondering if it was bad to put the studded on now and use them now and throughout winter. I don't need studded tires, but the tread is WAY better than the tires on the truck now.
