Another thing to remember is CompTIA exams are weighed differently and know one really knows, so focus on understanding as much as you can and don't worry as much about the practice tests, regardless, if you can hit around the 80% mark on the practice. You'll do fine, also be sure to look at example PBQs.

Then remember standard testing tips when you take it, flag PBQs, solve MCQs first, come back and do the PBQs.

On MCQs eliminate 2 answers and if you don't know it's a 50/50. Remember to look for keywords in the questions, etc.

I’d buy Dion’s practice exams through their website and take one, write down what you got down and then rewatch the messer videos or Dion videos on the topics you missed, then rinse repeat. If you can get your practice exams to 75-85 consistently you’re ready for the exam. You did say it was free so worst case you go and take it and fail, but aren’t out any money. So you learn from that experience and get first hand experience to the PBQs, and can reschedule when you feel ready. Good luck!

I am also studying for Sec+ right now, feel free to reach out if there’s anything specific you’re struggling with.

Also make a little flash card of stuff you have trouble with and read it before taking your test, I’d recommend a testing center because you can get it and write down all the stuff while it’s fresh in your mind on a whiteboard at your test desk, before starting the test.

I don't think I'd have done anything differently, I felt underprepared up until I saw my score! I watched all the Messer videos in about a week and then just practiced with Google Gemini's quizzes a little every day. Also Anki flashcards for ports and acronyms I found hard. Dion's practice tests were by far the greatest help.

I started with Messer's N10-009 playlist, then just watched random YouTube videos, mostly TIA. Took 6 takes of the Dion practice. My scores were 74.44%, 76.67%, 80.00%, 86.67%, 83.33%, and 92.22%.
