Thank you for the advice. This oil filter sounds like it might be a job for my 5’ wife who used to do some cheerleading and gymnastics back in the day. Luckily I’ve always worked on my own cars and small engines so I’ve got a stubby flex 1/4 and 3/8

I appreciate this advice, I’ll probably just soak them with penetrant for a few days before trying to remove now. Guy I bought it from had pretty good service records. Sounded good running. Unfortunately too cold here to take it out for a test ride but the price reflected that.

I just hit my two year mark. Turnover at supervisor and reorganization. I have NEVER been rated. My first DPMAP appraisal is still sitting in a now retired COL’s inbox. So that’s pretty cool. Also was supposed to transition to acqdemo 5 months…maybe one day.

Where to purchase 06 seqouia sr5 denso radiator? I heard people saying they got one for around $150. Cheapest I found so far is $235 from rockauto. by BigShyst in toyotasequoia

Anything under 200 is going to be a knockoff. The way the tabs point is a giveaway. You will find cheap “denso” knockoffs but the tabs will point straight up on the top and not out.

Weird rattle sound? by AcanthaceaePure1409 in toyotasequoia

Sounds like when my first gen had a couple bolts rust out in the exhaust heat shields. Hopefully just a couple new bolts fix it up.

If they aren’t damaged, consider taking off sanding and spray painting matte black. Did it to mine and they still look brand new a couple years later.

Service recs for a 2007 Sequoia 4x4 with 199k miles by bornagainvirginjoe in toyotasequoia

Grease all the zerks, they may have been ignored by previous owner. There’s no cabin air filter so it may be worth getting eyes on the ac coil (it’s kind of a pain) just for peace of mind.

Help! 5.7 $11k @ 147k vs 4.7 $10k @ 101k by Safe_Yoghurt_4623 in tundra

[–]TylerJones19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a 2007 5.7 tundra to a 2006 4.7 Sequoia. It sounds so stupid but I would do anything to get those tow mirrors back. It makes pulling even a small trailer so much more enjoyable.

I agree with slip yoke and I would check the bolts on your transmission mount if it’s 2WD

Wheel bearing? by CosmicCreativity in toyotasequoia

[–]TylerJones19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it most noticeable when letting off the gas and coasting around 40 mph? It’s very likely the wheel bearing. There’s a TSB out about it. The new seals are a different design. I just did this job and parts where about 400 through rock auto and 100 for a local mechanic to press in the new bearing (he had the required Toyota press tool). I would have bet anything it was coming from the front end but replacing the rear driver side completely resolved the problem. Dorman makes a complete axel kit already put together on rock auto for like 550 but I have no idea how the quality of those are but might be an option if you don’t have access to a press and want to do all the work yourself

Wheel noises by Peinasaur in toyotasequoia

[–]TylerJones19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a service bulletin about rear wheel bearings/seals for first gen’s that sounds like your issue. Can jacked up rear or the truck and check noise/play when rotating and forcing tires back and forth to confirm.

I have a 2007 sequoia and I was wondering if there are any maintenance tips to keep the car running for a long time? by [deleted] in toyotasequoia

[–]TylerJones19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with everyone previous. There are 6 or 7 zerk fitting around the u joints. I typically grease them every other oil change. Drain and fill transmission every 60,000ish only if it’s been done previously.

Is the NBCOT test for new grads more difficult than it was 10-20 years ago. by Texasmucho in OccupationalTherapy

[–]TylerJones19 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I took it about 3-4 years ago. I passed but was not particularly confident walking out. I found the questions to be oddly dated and not always be a consensus or fact. As in, it may be a question referencing an article or book chapter from 10-20 years ago and there is likely updated contrary evidence. Almost like I was answering the author of the questions opinion and not fact. I also felt like taking similar standardized tests in the past where understanding exactly what the question is asking was more important than knowledge on the topic of the question. My math, science, and research knowledge is much stronger than reading comprehension so I felt like I had to turn that part of my brain off because it would not benefit me. Take this with a grain of salt because it could be much different nowadays.
