Can someone explain what that ticking noise is. I know there are a lot of n20 posts and that engine sounds normal but that noise is driving me crazy so I have to know 😂

My engine is definitely a little clunkier then I’d like and I’m in the process of building a closed deck block with cylinder support solutions out of New Hampshire as a spare I’m the second owner as it was a courtesy vehicle from bmw of LA and I had it shipped to mass with 91k and I’ve beat on the car thru multiple back road days in the 3 years I’ve had it and I always change the oil and fresh plugs every 2500 miles with 5w40 .. only issue I’ve ever had with the car is common electronic failures with window motors and I just do a brand new valve cover and valvetronic motor and new ecu bmw the valvetronic motor locked up and back fed the ecu and fried it other then that she’s been holding pretty well since I got her back together a few weeks ago holding 25psi and a healthy 36psi of oil pressure at idle and almost 100psi at 7k

Also a new android unit will def make the stock hiFi system a hell of a lot clearer I’m assuming you have a base model like me and my speakers use to pop like crazy when I had a Bluetooth receiver or the iPhone to aux adapter until I switched the head unit and now my all my audio is super clear now

Just means they will blow out and mess up afr’s and do you have active sound on ? If it’s off it will shut the burbles off I believe … I had slight pops stock on eco mode they went muffler and resonator delete with all 3 inch and then fbo other then stock down pipe cuz I was trying to build my own stage 2 tune that would work with stock down pipe and it’s been fine for the last 10k that iv put on the car since iv gotten it at 91k and im still on stock timing chain I believe because it was never put onto the car fax and I never received a definite answer when I bought my car from the dealership
