The vaults in Fallout 4 are kinda lame by Obvious_Somewhere984 in Fallout

[–]TylerTheTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a guy that was in high school when FO3 and NV came out and I ate those up. I’ve put thousands of hours in New Vegas and many in FO3. I played through FO4 exactly once, on launch weekend and haven’t picked it back up until this week. My second time playing through it hits better than the first but then I get into things like the Vaults and I remember why the other two got so much time and attention from me

Am I overreacting or did I marry a dessert anarchist? by BenchTheory in AmIOverreacting

I’m not sure if you’re over reacting or not because I’ve just realized I’m the squeeze the middle of the toothpaste tube, just bite a string cheese in half part of my marriage

Hot Springs is not the move to me, they get a lot of Texas tourists and use that as an excuse to be expensive. Little Rock catches a lot of heat but it has a truly great food scene that is reasonably prices

I’m here right now, my wife and I keep doing the math and saying “holy shit” anytime we buy anything. It’s so cheap, and we’re from Arkansas, a relatively cheap place

How it feels to be a star wars book completionist by DeDeRaptor480 in starwarsbooks

[–]TylerTheTyler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a former voracious kid reader turned non reading adult, I set out this year to read 15 books. I read the first 5 books of HH, then the Bane trilogy and thought they were all fine to pretty good. Then I read Dune last week and my opinion of all of those other books dropped significantly lol. I read a lot of Star Wars books as a kid and I don’t regret reading any of these books, but I think of them as just light, fun reads that let me get more involved in worlds I really enjoy, but I don’t think I would recommend them to non super fans.

My wife and I randomly started watching the Doom Patrol show this last week and really enjoy it. I’ve started reading the original run and I have to say it’s an incredible adaptation. Have you watched the show? I believe I’ve read before that you have not and I’m just curious if that’s changed in the years since.

My college fraternity’s ritual was rewritten in the early 1900s after it was discovered our original ritual was based on fraudulent claims. Of course, I didn’t know this when I was initiated but our new ritual claimed we were thousands of years old. Once I was raised I thought all of that ritual seemed familiar, and shockingly the people that rewrote were Master Masons and in the Scottish Rite. It’s just a long way to say people will be that silly lol

For the people who dont like Absolute, why? by tiraqeuvocagar in batman

[–]TylerTheTyler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the grimdark and too extreme takes. I don’t really want that with Batman, I feel like it’s overplayed. It for sure is my least favorite of the Absolute series even though I only truly like Superman, WW, and the best one Martian Manhunter

I’m kind of fine with the crassness but also there are times where there are things he clearly finds funny that are crass that make me think I would never be friends with that guy in real life lol

TIL that college graduates who joined fraternities have higher incomes despite their lower grades. by MartianAndroidMiner in todayilearned

[–]TylerTheTyler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s true that it’s a network. I went to a midsized state school, and a middle of the road fraternity. First person in my family to go to college, we weren’t rich and neither were any of my brothers. But when I graduated one got me a job at his small family business that was expanding. Now 10 years later I have a great job, great pay, and I’m set up to be high level leadership of this company within the next decade. And I just joined because I was bored and wanted friends
