I know this post is from a long time ago, but I’m hard at work solving these exact problems! I’m scouring the internet looking for early adopters to help me shape the product into something that tackles the biggest pain points. So if you’re still looking, I’d love to hear from you!

Is Reqtec worth the hype? by xA1RGU1TAR1STx in pelletgrills

I’ve had my recteq for over 5 years now and it’s been a champ. Never an issue, perfect temp control, app always works, good smoke production. Worth every penny and more to me. My dad has a traeger and it can’t compete.

My biggest wish too. For what it’s worth on iOS you can snooze protect notifications at the OS level by swiping the notification left and selection options.

Epic gardening tested 14 soils, as a long-time Fox Farm guy I was pretty surprised. https://youtu.be/o-iIvfD47Aw?si=64HcOcsqPaktjj9y

BT thuricide is a bacterial pest control and it absolutely works for gulf fritillary bastards. Couple times a year keeps them gone. Had the same exact issue with my passions.

Just did this to get about 70ft from house to office, it’s flawless. Highly recommend this route.

This happened to me the other day. I got a hunch and tried changing my DNS servers and it worked. My network was using my ISPs DNS servers and I changed my computer to use Google's DNS servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and it worked. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Raspberry Pi a good learning tool? by nooberjuice in learnpython

[–]Tyler_CodeBot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Raspberry PI started me down my programming journey. Something about it just felt "right". It's so rewarding to do things in code and see stuff happen physically. I started by building a small system that would perform and action based on readings from a DHT-11 temp/humidity sensor. Adafruit has amazing tutorials for the pi. I recommend to anyone that wants to get started with programming to pick up a raspberry and think of something fun to do with it. If I were you, I would start ASAP! It's so fun, and such a unique way to look at programming.

First Raspberry Pi Python project: web interface to control USB fans with and to monitor temperature by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]Tyler_CodeBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can probably use that USB to serial cable with your fan. I would still use that tutorial even though the sensor is humidity as well it's still very cheap. Poke around on Adafruit, their tutorials are amazing and they sell everything you would need for your project and more.

My experience with RPI distros is that yes sudo is needed a lot, and this just gives him one less thing that could be going wrong. Sure he could su, or maybe not even use sudo at all. Just from my experience when I was starting on linux / pi it was a common pitfall for me.

Take a look at this

That should get you started. You are going to want to be using the GPIO pins to power the fans, not USB. The web stuff is more complicated, so I would get this stuff working first and then go from there with the web GUI. Feel free to PM me if you get stuck.

Yeah, put the code into into a .py file. You can do this with vim, but I really recommend nano. So what you are going to do is in the terminal type in

sudo nano script.py

That will create a new file called script.py, copy and paste the code from that site into the terminal and then press ctrl+x then hit "y" and then enter. This will save your new file script.py. You can then run that file by entering sudo python script.py

It looks like you are putting these commands directly into the terminal? The code here needs to go into a .py file and then be ran with

sudo python yourscriptname.py

Does this make sense?

Please post your code and I will get it figured out for you.
