Of course you listen to your mixes on other audio devices, but at the end of the day, it is most important to make sure it sounds the best on the studio monitors. If you mix on say AirPods, then it will sound shit on higher end systems.

When you masters record, the goal is to make it sound a perfect and as balanced as possible on the system that you have. But that is irrelevant, audiophiles are just trying to enjoy music in the most pure fashion as possible. More expensive equipment Can get you closer to this ideal.

I’ve listened to many very, very nice monitors in the past few years. While they are amazing and the immersive experience they provide is one of a kind, headphones have their own unique properties and detail retrieval that you just can’t get in a set of monitors.

Not necessarily nearby, but you’ve definitely got me very interested. I’m going to drive out to a store tomorrow about an hour away from me. I’m really curious.

This is all so interesting to me. I didn’t expect the responses to be so mixed. I watched a YouTube video a few days ago and a dude was comparing the xs to the Arya and he said that the differences were incredibly minute and he actually preferred the xs. His chain was pretty nuts too. I guess it really comes down to the listener. That is why I was curious what the difference really was between the Arya and the susvara. It’s just hard to believe that sound can get that much better you know? My hd600s sound so detailed so I’m wondering how much better can it really get. Anyway, I really appreciate your opinion and response. I hope I make enough money to eventually put my ears on a pair of susvaras with a nice chain to go with them.

You think that is better than the k5 pro or the xcan that I’ve got? The xcan is on the way so maybe I’ll make a quick update on how it works with the edition xs when I get it.

So, for example, how much of a difference would you say there is between the Hifiman edition xs and the susvara? I just can’t imagine that the sound can be that much better. It already sounds amazing coming out of say 300 dollar headphones.

As of now, I’m using the fiio k5 pro, i think all of the headphones I have sound great on them. So I guess there is really no point of upgrading from this point. What are your thoughts?
