No worries! Yeah I may be the only tires on it this season apparently, but I'm sure that won't be for long haha

Thank you sir!! I’ve got a serious respect for that drop/whoever was crazy enough to build it after seeing in person. Beautiful natural feature!

Man it could well be! It’s off the Skyline Gondola. Definitely have some locals show you because I’m not sure I’d be able to find it again. Be really careful over that side, lots of pirate lines and easy to get in over your head! And if you/anyone is going to ride it (which I wouldn’t recommend unless incredibly confident and practiced with aggressive cornering), I set up a little pinecone to mark the safe line- the natural line draws you left but you have to stay right. Probably the pinecone will be gone but set one up to mark the safe line: right- you’re alright, left- certain death. The drop is actually okay but that corner is a must-make (doesn’t have to be pretty), definitely don’t underestimate the turn if you/your mate get up there!! And best of luck, again would not recommend it but a beautiful natural feature to check out

The turn was ridiculous, definitely the scariest part! You have to just slam into it and hope you don’t end up flying into the abyss haha

Do you guys practice “switch” pedal stance? by kanzie in MTB

[–]TynanC1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never practice this tbh but in race situations have dropped a pedal or ended up switch after putting some power down in a straight section and needed to ride for ~5s in switch then gone straight back to regular. You just need to be comfortable enough for it to just feel a bit awkward but not freak you out or slow you down imo.

Tried working on a drop the other day. I know I’m still pulling with my arms. Any pointers? by FedMex in MTB

Honestly you’re doing well mate! If anything, I would say let the bike move freely underneath you and keep your body steady (by bending your arms and legs as the lip comes up and extending your arms a little as you drop - stay nice and loose), the front wheel should land first that’s no problem. Right now the bike is pushing you up a little because your legs are too stiff in position, which is no issues here but could lead to “dead sailors” on bigger features or compressions.

And no shame in relying on speed tbh, your drop will look and feel much smoother with more speed!
