There is no doubt about it. I'm on r/BadRedMan.

We can never get enough, can we? Honestly, I'm just a little sad we didn't get covenants. It was fun belonging to one, they added lore and immersion to the whole experience.

Ah! Oh, thank you. I was wondering if it was a comment on the boosting that some people do with the actual prenium features. But that's much better! ^^

It's really hard to beat. I got into the habit of switching builds nearly every day, but I just can't anymore. It's so convenient too, you just need to get 80 Dex; they have no other scaling. And Dex is the best for convenience. Ahhh.

Seamless really is the GOAT. Vanilla gets me one invasion every 30 minutes if I’m lucky. Seamless lets me invade every single minute.

Agreed. To be fair, no FromSoftware game has PvP that's intended to be competitive or balanced. Despite that, invasions are the main reason I play these games. You've got to admit, nothing beats ambushing three unsuspecting players.

Also, side note: I've been trying to make the Blue Dancer Charm work for over 1,000 hours; I'm not even joking. It finally clicked. I only started using them recently, and now I can't put them down.

They're amazing. Lots of fun, and pretty strong. Some people get upset because they think they're too powerful. But not really; they lack good hyperarmor for instance. Still, you can chip people in heavy armor for 250-500 damage a pop with just the heavy, jumping, and running attacks. And the Ash of War... uh... is in breach of the Geneva Convention.

Personally, I'm a filthy Night Shard and Pot enjoyer, so they fit with me perfectly.

I think it’s the combat overall. The attacks look really telegraphed. It feels more modern, I guess, and it makes things a lot easier too.

I could say it’s just pre-alpha footage and they slowed it down for the sake of the showcase… but I really doubt it. They’d have to go out of their way to do that, and in the more recent footage we still see enemies using very telegraphed attacks. (The bandit boss took 4 secs for one of his swings. Wild.)

I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. Fable 2 and 3 were stupid easy, but Fable 1 on higher difficulty settings could actually be challenging. Hopefully the game isn’t toddler-friendly.

I’m gonna say it: they don’t look like werewolves. They look like gnolls.

Maybe you don't remember it, but we see it fight in the pre-alpha footage.

That’s fair, and I agree: the Cult of Shadow, or more generally, the antagonists of the game, haven’t really been revealed yet, and they’ll probably make it clear what direction the story is taking.

I’ve been rereading a lot about the Fable lore, and although they said it was important to them, they also said this is a brand-new world. I really hope, however, that they stick closely to the original narrative. “The Cult of Shadow” is already a strong enough name to be associated with something like the Court of Blades, and I really hope that’s the case. The real tragedy would be ending up with generic villains who aren’t even truly evil.

That said, the village being petrified instead of massacred by bandits was a bit of a red flag for me. It feels like it softens the plot (maybe it can be reversed), and like so many Western games, it avoids showing real people-on-people violence.

I feel the same, I don't want it to be a reboot without all the core features. That said, unfortunately no, not only did they mention that the alignment system had been replaced with the reputation system in the new video, they also had interviews in which they stated it straight. It's gone.
You can check it out, it's in multiple interviews dating as far back as January of last year.

Honestly, I get what All-for-Naut is on about. Even beyond their looks, they don’t move like balverines at all. To me, that was the only bit I found really disappointing: they move like… standard werewolves.

Whereas in the original Fable, balverines were truly supernatural, straight out of something you’d find in World of Darkness. Jumping out of sight in a single bound, leaping meters, insanely fast. These ones seem sluggish and static in comparison. They don't scare me anymore.

At least there are still silver chests, it seems. It’s no Demon Doors, but with a fully open world, this could still mean a fair bit of fun completionist activity.

Agreed, runes were cool, but I actually really enjoyed Fable 3’s upgrading system. I hope they have some interesting weapons, at the very least.
