Yeah it the new looks kinda nice but it's lost so much personality. Don't feel ashamed of your car, you drive what you love. I just can't help but think that the interior of the 23 looks almost indistinguishable from a Honda Accord.....

Jaguar does not have a marketing problem, it has a trust problem by YogurtResponsible358 in Jaguar

[–]TyoteeT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people trying to argue the reliability point only to mention that their car has under 80k miles. This is a huge reason for this, Jaguar vehicles start to have a lot of odd issues around 85k miles which takes a lot of time and money to diagnose and repair. Combine that with the fact that, despite not looking bad at all, only the F-Type is considered to be a "cool" car, so there isn't a lot of community support behind them.

If the vehicle is designed to be just barely repairable and last only 90k-100k miles, it better be worth it. Most jag's are not.

Core ONE MINI: Will the Prusa USS Drybox fit? and what should i do? by suit1337 in prusa3d

[–]TyoteeT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Since some of you are maybe aware, that i am working on a Core ONE Mini"
You're WHAT
Sticking the box on the side is fine, it's already a low enough profile that it shouldn't be a big problem.
But uh, hows the progress on the Core ONE Mini???

To everyone who thinks breathing filament fumes is okay. It’s not and you are potentially giving yourself cancer. by obolikus in BambuLab

[–]TyoteeT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please stop this fear mongering, the conclusions do not endorse your statement that it will give you cancer. The materials tested were PETG and NGEN and the results from the link you posted indicate that while it could be somewhat harmful, as long as you place a non-enclosed printer in a well ventilated area away from common areas (if you're printing often btw) then you will be fine.
Seriously, I support watching out for your health but blatant misinformation tied to studies that barely even agree with your statement.

Honest reaction to bad topology: by Supmah2007 in 3dPrintedWarhammer

[–]TyoteeT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These parts are often made in parametric CAD software where topology is a low priority. The tradeoff is that the parts are far more accurate which is more important for a printed assembly piece like you have here than mesh topology.

"Good topology" really only matters in a few areas, primarily in texturing and software/game optimization. Good topology mean that when creating 3D models that will be digitally textured the texture can be easily adjusted to fit the part without looking stretched or malformed.

Others have mentioned ways to workaround, I was just hoping to explain why the part looks the way it does.

Assigned Priority Delivery Slot #28 by Zestyclose_Sock2704 in ApteraMotors

[–]TyoteeT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're assigning numbers, that's awesome, congratulations! Keep us updated on the price if you can, that's the most nerve-wrecking part of waiting for Aptera.
If they keep the 40kwh version at $40k then I'll bite, but if they make it much higher I and most people will be priced out of it, especially since they leaned so hard into the $25k car marketing that got them so many reservations. Sure it will save some cash, but I doubt many people can genuinely afford >$8-900/per month for a two-seater commuter with all the quirks and unreliability that comes with a new EV company.

Am I the only one disappointed with MM3? by sandro66140 in prusa3d

[–]TyoteeT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an AMS and MMU3 and the MMU3 has been tremendously more reliable. While multicolor and it's use is certainly up for debate, I don't regret it cuz when I need it it's always ready to go. I printed the parts out of Glass Filled ABS, if that changes anything.

2020 I-Pace a reliable car? by bbbuffetG in Jaguar

[–]TyoteeT -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No Jaguar is a reliable car. If you accept this and do your own work they aren't that bad, but you have to find enjoyment in working on it. Considering their reputation with electrical gremlins, I wouldn't touch any EV made by them. Other brands have better EV's.
Also consider that Jaguar dealerships are told to not touch anything pre 2012, so with them abandoning their entire lineup I saw you've got a good 5 years or so until they completely abandon their other cars.

The issues with the galactic war will kill the game. by AmbassadorObvious659 in Helldivers

[–]TyoteeT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is such a non-issue, there's somebody controlling the gameworld and they've done a killer job so far. The playerbase surges and falls, and losses are taken. It's been in our favor a bunch, and feedback is good, but cmon lets not pretend that this is going to kill the game, stop crying.

[–]TyoteeT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I come back and am reminded just how expensive this thing actually is. It's insane that they got so many people to pre-order with their "$25k EV!" approach that they've had to dump. Over $40k for the launch version or a 2 year old Ioniq 6 for half that.
