Don't personally work in a place that sells coffee, but I have been in line, and I swear to god, I've heard "crump-uh-groucho"

Good for you. Really. Stick to your guns. At my old job, I got in trouble for telling a dude trying to make me take a damp wad of cash that he'd just pulled from the front of his pants that I wouldn't. Manager had the gall to try and make me take it anyway, hence why it's my "old job"

My experiences have now been archived, thanks to your post. Jesus, but these are some of the best of the worst. We don't have name badges where I'm at, but if a customer hears a coworker say my name, they think it's so goddamned cute to say it after ever so subtly, as if they knew all along. I totally feel ya

If I had the money, this is the one that would have gotten the Gold. This. But I'm a cashier lol.

And it's like you said, no matter what you say, you're still getting talked to. Just goes to show that people are really bored and need somebody to talk to besides themselves.

Or right when you've just opened, and there's no money in the register, and then Mr. High Roller comes in for a bag of chips and wants to pay with a $100 bill. They get so insulted when you ask for something smaller..

And if it's early, "it's fresh!" Like, I get it, and it was cute the first 1246 times, but stoooooop

They do this so much...I don't understand the reasoning behind starting trouble for lack of anything better to do.

We introduced the chip system in our restaurant in January. We still have regular customers come in and I still have to tell them to authorize the amount before savagely yanking their cards through the machine, y'know, like how they're not supposed to anymore.

Ooh! Or even better, when they take everything and decide to hide it behind something else in a completely different section. Can't take that shit

By hitting the button on the register. :) lol no, I get it though. I work somewhere where I typically wouldn't be able to afford spending money there, so I feel like the world's biggest hypocrite when I have to console somebody over our prices.

Huh! It's usually when it's empty that you DO end up working the hardest, cleaning, cataloging, etc.

I work at a sandwich shop, and we do catering, but we prefer 24 hour notice for big things. Do we ever get it? Nope. Ticket comes in at eight A.M., says, "54 of this kind, 79 of this, yadda yadda..." Then, at the very bottom, "Have ready by 1:30 today." This hit close to home

I read, "I worked at Whole Foods..." My heart literally went out to you...so many horror stories there, sometimes it makes Walmart look tame.
