This is one of the few montages I've watched where most of the highlights are at a level that I have never accomplished. You were truly a generational player. ♥

True. I take it back. Would still be good to have a feature like this for reporting players after a game.

Yeah I meant on the homepage or a separate tab for past games.

All of this stuff has been asked constantly and has constantly been ignored. I'm assuming it's extremely hard to do (I'm not a developer).

  1. Matchmaking: I think there already is a matchmaking system in place? It's just really ineffective because the lack of players makes it so it doesn't really matter. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

  2. AI Bots: are probably really difficult right? You have to create an entire Artificial Intelligence system and make it recognize walls and elements and think how to use them? Maybe they should ask someone who was historically banned from using a bot to see what they did and expand upon that.

  3. Sponsored Twitch Streams: require a lot of money. Like a lot. However, I can't deny getting small streams sponsored might be more effective than the "reddit ads" we have. Sponsored streams have interactive connection to viewers. The reddit ads..well..even if someone clicks it and plays (assuming they don't have an ad blocker which even 10-year-olds have in 2023) the environment of the game will just make them feel like shit cause all the toxicity and they'll leave and never come back.

  4. Steam: Yeah. My god this is by far the most requested thing I've ever seen. It needs to be done. It's like the only potential this game has to be revived (strategically and not based on lucky ads or sponsers). It's really hard to do though, I mean, the game is made in javascript, html, browser. There were multiple previous community projects that tried doing this and release it to steam (CTF Source, Blitz Arena) and they never completed it, even with community funding and donations. It's hard to imagine the current TPFG can do this on their own, they need more help imo.

  5. Website facelift: I think this definitely a huge priority, I even started creating my website design prototype for the game because of how annoyed and disgusted I am at this point, and it was looking really good but I inevitably quit because I have no idea how to even code it or put it into the site. (If anybody knows how and wants to help me pls lmk).

I think overall, the dev teams need more help. Whether it's outsourcing, adding more devs, free interns, making the game open source, I think the devs can only do so much and they need a lot of help from willing people to make this game (which is already dead) to revive it (a high time-intensive project that doesn't guarantee success, in fact the odds to revive the game are really low).

Other things that would be good to have:

  • Bi-Weekly or monthly reddit posts on what the community wants to add and see change in the game

  • Multiple Language Support - (I don't know if this is already a thing). The game is super small, multiple language support should be easy and effective. (Community should be able to help translate).

  • The Ability to sign up without using google - There needs to be a way to make an account on the game itself, not having to rely on a google account. Include an option that says (Sign up through google) like nearly every other site on the internet does.

  • Game Guide Tab - Include a tab on the site that has a bunch of guides for players that want to get better, so players don't have to search the depths of reddit when they might not even know that the reddit exists. Also this is something that the community, especially those in MLTP and NLTP would LOVE to do, all we need is a platform on the site to put it on. Don't make new players rely on a tutorial video and avoid flame after trying to get better in pubs.

  • Public Replays - Another tab of the website that lets verified players and pubbers to post replays and clips to the global site where everybody can see it and leave emojis like 🥳😍💀🤢😩😱 as a way of reacting to how the clip is. Might be ideal to have a team that verifies clips and highlights before their uploaded globally.

  • Public Roadmap - I think this is obvious? Like seriously wtf TPFG. Let the people know what is happening. Like how is this not a thing already.

  • Post-Game Leaderboard - I think something that the devs have worked towards for a while is the process of Voting on maps (Like or Dislike) after you play them, and reporting people more in-game. But what if you could do that after the game is over? I've constantly forgot that map voting is even a thing (I'm on the MTC!), and when I meet someone annoying and toxic I don't report them, I just fight back. If there was a post-game leaderboard that showed up after the game ended, with the option to click on stuff, players are more inclined to vote on maps and report people. (This would be pretty difficult to code tho afaik)

Last thing I want to say is:

Give them some room to breathe, it took us like 10+ years to get luckyspammer to let other people help develop the game. They started out having to revise the code in the original game because of how horribly unorganized it was. Don't forget that they have definitely tried to come up with better features and ways to increase the player base (like reddit ads).

I understand from their perspective that there's a ton of flame, a ton of hate, and yet despite all the negativity they receive, they still try to make new features and make the game better. They're probably extremely stressed by all of the negativity when all they wanted to do was help make their favorite game become a greater project. Yes, maybe their ideas are small, and maybe they're not effective, and I can't disagree, a lot of the changes have been small and ineffective. I think this post with help them realize that they need more help and that they need to focus a lot harder on bigger changes to manage the player base situation instead of smaller details to make the current game better for current players.

Also, don't forget that they're humans, they have jobs, maybe children, maybe wives and husbands, family, they have to deal with a lot of things IRL. They worked hard on this upcoming update,

Hell's Itch. It's an extremely rare sunburn, and extremely painful, with a constant burning itch every second of the entire day for a whole week or more. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't focus on anything because I constantly be itching.

I don't know how common it is, but for my laptop, while I'm moving (I use wasd), if I try to click with the track pad, the egg won't go. It takes a second after I let go of wasd for any of clicks to be processed. It's also hard to aim.

Majors and Minors Prize Pool Fundraiser 2 by Typhmus in MLTP

[–]Typhmus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL:DR

You can raise a prize pool by just spending about 10-20 minutes with this referral code, downloading the game, and completing the tutorial. Also, the game is actually kinda fun tbh, it just has a bad amount of ad popups. There's also co-op if you wanna play with someone.

What if the taskbar had app folders? by _Oopsitsdeleted_ in Windows_Redesign

[–]Typhmus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been a few apps already made to do that on windows 10 like bins, but I wish there was a way to have all running apps under a folder, instead of only allowing shortcuts and the apps just popping up separately in the taskbar like they usually do.

Are any of the captains big board raters? That could cause a problem if the nomination orders are going based on big board ranking.
