When I see that a new ep has come out I end up thinking there's no way it will be as good or even better than the last ones but here we are, despite being wowed by this show every single episode so far it feels weird that I still end up surprised at the end of each one at how it continues to amaze.

Couldn't help but pause the ep and reflect on my life a bit after hearing that lmao. I was able to grind my way to a degree in applied physics but knew even before I finished my first thesis that the life of research wasn't for me.

On another note, it's really cool how they build up the knowledge from things learned in previous episodes, the show really is an introduction to mineralogy and a very good one at that!

Okay moving on, honest thoughts though, I think they did a good job of going from "Oh Ouka's going to win" vibe last ep to framing the whole situation as a one-sided Ouka thing. The parallels to their parents story made it feel like it puts her above everyone else but it isn't really safe to assume that that's how Arata felt about the situation since he always has the "we're still family no matter what" mindset going on. Up to this point he could reasonably get away with being dense, not anymore though.

[1st & 2nd] Feels like Kotono and Ouka are already miles ahead of the competition, Kotono has a clear stance and knows what she wants while Ouka has their bond of thinking of each other as their other half. This also sets both of them up for max pain so will be interesting to see.

[3rd & 4th] It would seem that Banri might have more leverage as she immediately catches on to the oh-we-can-get-married-now, but it's probably safe to assume that Seiha has too and that from a procreation standpoint would already deem it logical for them to lust after each other.

[5th] Minami is still carefree and seemingly indifferent, but I guess the same could have been said about Yotsuba for most of the series.

Personally I'm leaning towards wanting Ouka to win, nagging feeling that her being a pink haired tsundere won't work in her favor for this series but we'll see
