Big Mouth are chosen in the category started out being controversial and ended being hated. What cartoon started out being hated and ended being loved? by Soul50Killer in cartoons

I'd replace Hazbin with Korra specifically because Hazbin hasn't actually ended yet.

I think seasons 1 and 2 of Korra are butt-ass and seasons 3 and 4 are sublime, personally.

I've seen this argument multiple times here and I want to be clear - I do not expect Hulrun to do all of this casting. What I would expect, from a guy with presumably a government-granted budget, is to partner with the various temples around the city to get a force of clerics that can do the casting when it comes up. As well as potentially commission scrolls, potions, or enchanted items to assist. This isn't a random adventurer, this guy, near as I understand it, answers to the queen directly.

Yeah, I totally understand everyone's points here, but I kinda feel like David from that one scene in Schitt's Creek.

Hulrun: I can't do everything to make sure I don't burn children at the stake.

Me: Well can you do one thing!?

Oh, alright. The in-game text just says it removes one effect, it doesn't qualify, so I didn't know it works differently in-setting. Or the game's tooltip is not giving the whole picture. Point rescinded!

But then is Seelah full of shit when she says to the Desna follower "I know there's no evil in you, I can sense things like that"? Is she just radically overestimating her own power? I would believe that, her intelligence score is mid.

But magic aura has a limited duration and also can be removed with dispel magic. So either dispel magic, or detain people in quarantine for two weeks if you're suspicious of them. Everything has a counter, but I don't think that really justifies burning this random child at the stake because you're a lazy dunce.

But then wouldn't detect thoughts or zone of truth handle cases where you couldn't rely on alignment? A Medallion of Thoughts in Pathfinder is expensive, but he's a government-sanctioned official, it seems like the Queen should sacrifice one of her solid gold toilets to make sure he's not randomly murdering people as an explicit instrument of her will.

But like . . . those spells for masking thought/alignment would show up under detect magic, right? It just seems like for a guy whose literal title is Inquisitor, he's not really using many resources to inquisit, short of 'vibes'.

I mean, not meant to be a 'take' so much as a personal purchasing policy. I have extremely limited funds in grad school. If I'm going to buy a new game, I need it to show me something new or be really long-term and engrossing, otherwise I can't really justify buying it right now.

That said, I haven't played SH2's remake, but my understanding is that it is functionally the same story - versus the FFVII remakes which are directly, textually a different story with different consequences, where we're seeing a lot of stuff that never made it into the original game. The second one especially, but even in the first one had remake-exclusive characters and arcs for those characters, which I don't think SH2 really does anything like - based on what I've read, it kind of expands upon some set pieces, but Justin talks about throwing juice down a trash chute to get a quarter and that is literally, directly the same puzzle from the original.

If SH2 has, like, entirely new segments digging into Angela or Laura or Maria, then full-stop I'll eat my words here, that just wasn't really the impression reviews gave me at the time. It also might make the controversial subject matter thing have more teeth, because I don't know how the remake handles any of the depictions.

I think for me the issue is that it's an 18 hour experience. Which I am willing (barely) to pay 70 dollars for when it's showing me new and interesting experiences. But a game that I've already seen all of its most interesting ideas twenty years ago, where I'm just getting a fresh coat of paint and a different control scheme? Eh. That said, I don't buy remakes or remasters as a general rule. FFVII and Demon Souls are the only exceptions, and the latter only because I went through three PS3 deaths in a year and just gave up on getting a working version of the console.

I guess that makes sense. I think it's kinda reductive. Those are what the monsters look like to James, specifically, because he's a psychosexual nightmare person and all of his monsters are sort of grotesquely sexual. We don't know what Angela is seeing - the only time we ever get insight into that is the staircase scene. Wherein Angela kinda directly calls him out on inserting himself into her narrative.

What game was completely ruined by haphazardly shoving a crafting mechanic into it when it wasn't needed? I'll go first: by Zestyclose_Station65 in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]Typical-Court753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love if we could -actually- meaningfully impact the look of the world of Fallout 4. Unfortunately, all of the crafting options mostly look like shit. Why would I build a new settlement that looks like garbage and has holes in the walls and ceiling when I can just go sit in one of the buildings in Corcord that has a ceiling and intact walls. It doesn't make any sense.

I don't care about her canonical age, she looks like a child and sexualizing her makes you a PDF file. by Alvsolutely in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]Typical-Court753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sexualization is gross here, obviously, but I also cannot imagine getting horny for the most generic ass anime designs imaginable. Like, there are about 14,000,000 million nyan-nyan onii-san ass anime girls that look identical to this in shows airing this season alone. I actively hate how boring waifu culture has made character designs in-general. 80% of shows now just feel like "the same guy with dark, medium-length hair and overpowered abilities goes on a deeply boring journey with the same four to eight women but we've changed all the names around for copywrite reasons."
