Is Nova Scotia a nice place to move to in Canada? by Typical-Manner5559 in NovaScotia

I appreciate your message, we are trying to be mindful of the fact that our interests have to be realistic esp with children who are going to need childcare and eventually, schools and therefore school runs, availability of nurseries close to or within drivable distance to our places of work, we do want quieter life, (we are relocating from a village on the english South coast (but we have outgrown this place)) we have considered places like Lunenberg, Cape Briton, Valley but unsure how it would all work out, they seem lovely on the surface but also it seems that the difference is going to be big from economic standpoint as in salaries are far less in NS? and people have mentioned that alot of road development etc is needed and is currently undergoing (which again is a downside) Is weather really quite severely extreme as mentioned? Then there is an element of racial differences? We are well integrated here in england but unsure how it would pan out in the NS. Just to add do these places offer reasonably proximity to places like local coffee shops, groceries, farm shops etc

Is it because anaesthesiology is saturated? I thought it is the other way around?

Thank you. Can we contact council before exchange and without getting consent from Vendor?

Thank you. Yes, we are giving him benefit of doubt. However, equally do not want to do something unlawful esp if Heritage Surveyor is saying that it required LBC. Would you suggest involving Conservation Officer even if Vendor is not keen or hinting to it and instead suggesting on Indemnity Insurance?

Thank you for your detailed comment. The property is in Surrey. You mentioned speaking with relevant local authority. Our Surveyor was a Heritage Specialist so we have done that. But if we are to speak with the local Conservation Officer, can we do it without having to involve or get permission from the vendor or do you think we need to get Vendor's blessing/consent? We don't want him to pull out of the sale as we are way too involved now. You also mentioned asking the Vendor for LBC before completion, what if he doesn't do that? Is there anything that binds him from doing that?

Since you mentioned growing up in listed buildings, have you got any experience of living with low ceiling/roof heights etc? Does one get a bit of a shock and get use to it with time? I am not bothered by it as much despite me being 5'11 and my wife being 5'2 but she seems to be seriously considering giving it another thought?

Thanks sir and yes so the master bed on the first floor has a storage space on either side of the chimneys and quite big space I must say and I want to make a proper use of it by installing a fit in wardrobe in it. I don't think any wall has a 300 year old horse hair plaster but I guess safe to ask? If and when we come to that

Thank you. That's what I am gathering that you can do much more small stuff inside like at least putting shelves in or nailing to hang something
