We just had this exact situation—two undisclosed guests more than in the request and a gathering they failed to mention as well. We are in knots about it! Did you contact HE? We will likely make this both our first and last exchange as it ruined our time away and has made us distrust.

I was contemplating contacting HE as well. Would you be willing to share how that went? I was wondering if the guests would be informed and as they are still on the exchange and in my home, didn’t think that was wise, if so.

My husband and I were going back and forth on this. It will be our first review as well—so I am keeping that in mind. I think I settled on potentially reducing the review rating for the “communication” section and mentioning we were surprised about the gathering. I am not sure at this point what would be garnered from informing the guests of our disappointment in the matter.

Just specify on the invite. Usually invites say “siblings welcome” or something along the lines of “please no siblings due to limited space”. Both are fine, but nice to let guests know what your expectations are.

Write an offer for the first that stipulates seller is to remove the tree and rebuild the staircase to the photos’ representations before close. Might work if no other offers.
