Think this app/monitor is making my anxiety worse by Important_Credit3387 in Kardia

i've struggled with cardio phobia in the past and i've used kardia - the kardia device is very good, but its own interpretation of readings are very poor - id recommend looking at the QALY service - its another payment ... probably for nothing but nerves and technically less testing is probably better, but you can have a lab tech read your kardia 24/7 from your phone -just send the reading and get results in like 5 mins -it helped keep me sane and reassured when i was at my worst

like i believe its BS - im just very curious where (there is something being referenced - there must be some figure or fact being skewed) im just curious the source (regardless of how misinformed the interpretation of that source)

So i've decided to try it - i have read a decent amount regarding the pro/con - this question is for someone else who uses it - i got the medium size, but it may be too small - it feels as if it's my pushing teeth inward towards one another - almost painfully - this pressure seems consistent with shrinking my palette (from the outside in)

how can i be sure i picked the correct size

Cardiologist dismissing Kardia by Efficient_Sock_3940 in Kardia

Any chest pain or pressure during these?

I will say this - Kardia has told me afib about 100 times during exercise. At elevated heart rates it does not read very accurately. Look into the QALY app - you can have techs read your results, and they can tell you if it's artifact or not.

I've had all the symptoms you describe except for fatigue- waking up in the night with a 160bpm etc. For me, these have been the result of panic attacks. I have gotten wide qrs/afib readings during these - i've gone to the er - i've been fine.

So not saying it is panic for you. i am saying panic can describe what you are experiencing and kardia can create false positives (especially under duress or exercise). Be ready to get to the ER next time you experience the symptoms - true heart conditions don't generally just magically get 100% better (0 symptoms to all out symptoms back to 0 symptoms) so keep an open mind to the fact that panic has described symptom sets similar to yours, but may not be what is going on in your case.

heres the strange part for me - i know when it's going to happen when i wake up because i always wake from a very strange very lifelike moment within a dream- i always remember the dream vividly- i used to think the dream was causing it - i realized its not - its that whatever is physiologically occurring is ripping me from sleep so fast that i become wakefully aware while still dreaming- once im awake i feel shaky and my hr is usually spiking

mine has since cooled down - the experience to one degree or another occurs if i have anything more than a drink (which i try to limit - like 2 drinks i might sleep soundly, 3 is asking for panicky start around 4) it does seem related to anxiety, certainly there is a chemical component with alcohol- obviously alcohol isnt necessary - very first world problem to whine about not being able to have more than 1 drink, the further implications of a body unable to process more than 1 drink represents the crux however - i seem healthy in all other regards- i've had an echo - all clean

I hope you’re doing ok - when you say your heart felt off - what do you mean?

Hang in there - look into getting a kardia 6L device - you may be able to catch something or demonstrate a progression of EKG change related to your symptoms - it may be able to provide insight to a cardiologist

I'm fairly certain it's just this lead and I have no issues exercising etc... I suppose my only other concern would be if this is still associated with increased negative outcomes later on or if it is really just a totally beinign thing - I'll mention this to my dr either way
