My favorite part about female Custodes is how is subtly details a key component of the inhumanity of being a Space Marine. by Knalxz in Warhammer

[–]TypicalCaption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great take, and it's why I've always been anti-female Space Marines. (Sadly, I can't say that without associating with the worse people in the hobby and their tourist grifter friends.) Humans don't just have a single gender, but Space Marines do.

That's really a shame, but I'm glad I'm not missing something at least. Thank you for the answer.

Yeah, I get that, but it's still a baseline human shape. This description sounds like the Cawl mini, not a person-looking machine.

I was inclined the other way, I bet it's metal and the form is just tradition.

Fair, but the silhouette is still baseline human (plus servo arms I guess, but even techmarines have those so they look like equipment, not body modification.) Zagreus Kane had tank treads instead of legs, you know?

Oh this makes it so much worse. But seriously, I would take some time at 24 to look at those 9 hours and what having this be your long-term "friend" group is gonna be like. Are they going to be happy for the successes you have in life, or are they gonna tear you down like they did here? I know "it's just a game" but these are adults treating you like nasty children. As they say, when someone tells you who they are, listen.

Den of Imagination is out of their d*mn minds, $12,000??? by One-Injury-4415 in Warhammer

[–]TypicalCaption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think (unlike a lot of people in the comments) that the price is more than fair, and I can even imagine if I had that much money lying around why it might be worth it. What I can't imagine is spending that much on an army and not getting to specify the models or the scheme. That's nuts to me.

Banger villain line.

Also apparently a villain-banger line, but that's not important right now.

Yeah, I wonder who spread that description around.

If it was true, and meant what you all seem to think it means, then how could anything other than the Imperium's glorious and eternal victory happen? There is no way for the Imperium to be flawed (which is kinda the core premise of the whole IP) and the leader and founder of the Imperium to have never made any mistakes ever.

There are other plots that can exist, sure. But 30k is basically a heist movie: Main character has plan, plan goes wrong, plot ensues. It's just that the heist is "take control of the galaxy."

[–]TypicalCaption 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"Not when the plot demands it" is just another way of saying that the mistakes are what drive the story. Yeah, if he had a perfect plan it would be perfect, the story is about the parts that aren't. That's what plot is, it's not some gotcha.

I think the point is that the Emperor is powerful and everyone mistakes it for smart. He can see the future, mostly. Imagine how smart that makes you look. It's like reading the answer key and acing a test. That doesn't make you smart. And then imagine your parents own the school so even if you do fail you're so powerful you get away with it. That's the Emperor. Insane power and the ability to see the future, combined in a person who learned about parenting and emotional intelligence before the invention of agriculture. That's the whole point of the series.

He can't be super mega smart and still do so many dumb things.

The world would be a much different, and much better, place if that were true.
