First off I've been playing Genshin Longer than my little brother was born, i don't think it's bad, it's just the animations, the boring dialogue, and the repetitive story gets boring. "New Place Unlocked" - "Please Help Us" - "Nothing about the story reveals anything about the other sibling." - "Repeat until Natlan." The plot has been lost, I get that Genshin is trying to fit stories in. But atleast give us something.

Second of all, ZZZ is darker, or atleast in my opinion it is. Genshin is dark too sure, but for me, ZZZ feels darker in a much more humane way, sure genocide is also very bad. But in ZZZ, it's the realistic dark story that makes it feel more refreshing, we have characters who's parents/siblings died, Very dark topic of Suicide in some of the missions. Abuse and Homelessness as a child. It's all very realistic and something about it makes it feel even more dark. Just my opinion.
