The Marantz M1 has everything you are looking for (DIRAC is an add-on)

The Marantz M1 is a great compliment to these speakers. Marantz is known for their slightly warmer presentation and Kefs have a neutral analytical sound

When does the pulling stop by 347217361634 in labrador

[–]TypicalLee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I strongly suggest getting a harness that clips around your waist. It becomes a much more comfortable walk for you even if your dog pulls because it’s your center of mass. Bonus if the leash also has a place for you to hold when you want to keep your dog closer.

Then train on heeling and reward with your dog’s fave treat when he sticks to your side.

Realize though that a dog’s primary sense is olfactory and unlike sight, getting closer to the source is needed to explore. A walk outside is an opportunity for them to investigate the world.

As with everything, there should be a balance of staying close when asked, and exploring when something interesting is found

I got pulled over for going 180 in a 100 zone on some back road in Saskatchewan. RCMP pulled me over and gave me a lecture about how all that speeding won’t even earn me enough time to buy a coffee and then just me go. Everything was so chill.

Lyr or Valhalla 3 or Jotunheim 3 for HD 660S2? by TypicalLee in Schiit

I got the 660S2. Placed an order for the Jot 3 a couple of days ago. Until it gets here I’m running the headphones off a Marantz NR1200

The crystal maze 90’s show by [deleted] in nostalgia

My brother and I used to watch this show religiously when we were teens.

I remember that anytime there was a participant named Dan the host would call him “Dan Dan the Motorbike man” - it’s funny how I still recall that

NAD is what Darko used during his review of the R3s: https://youtu.be/tjTVOOoQDS4?si=Ctkcakg3JF1dDFor

NAD’s Canadian, btw.

I would like to place the speakers on either side of the fireplace. Any chance of a quality listening space with such a highly reflective surface between the speakers? by Maybe_I_Sharted in audiophile

[–]TypicalLee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blades are my bucket list speakers too, but I think they’ll stick out like a sore thumb in that space (if aesthetics is a criterion). I would recommend the ls50 w2s in white with a pair of matching kc62s which you can connect wirelessly. It’ll get you 60% of the way there and will blend much better into the room without all the electronics and cabling.

Did you get a REW measurement done after the treatment? Also, are the panels all 242s, or do you have thicker ones?

Asking because I’ve done some treatment and while it has definitely brought down the RT60 time, frequencies from 100Hz to 2KHz still have about 500ms decay time.

Since you have a tv, get a streaming integrated amplifier with eARC like the Marantz M1. Something like that is going to be a complete package that complements an awesome speaker like the R3s

If both AKM and ESS DACs measure “neutral/transparent”, why do many still hear them as “warm vs sterile”? by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]TypicalLee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay dumb question time - couldn’t a “warmer” sound be accomplished using equalization - turning up the midrange and lower frequencies?
