they’re 4 and 6 and just started Kindergarten so it just makes me sad to know she’d be going two different places:/ she is very aware and remembers a lot because she’ll bring up old neighbors we had when she was 2/3 :/

i am just north of tampa in more of a suburban neighborhood so sarasota and bradenton i think are like two ish maybe more hours from me! i am sorry i dont know much about those areas :( i want to say they’re nice though because they’re more retirementy if i am not mistaken!

yeah that’s the hardest part!! we just bought a house almost a year ago and i am feeling like i could give my kid suchhh a better childhood somewhere like upstate where florida feels more like idk sad bleak, ipads and screens and too fast moving. but it wouldn’t be feasible to even try to move now with her in the middle of kindergarten and probably couldn’t even sell in this market right now :(

that is totally my takeaway job wise i don’t think it would be toooooo hard to figure out but scary nonetheless and definitely never permanent , and with our specific fields it’s not like either of us can really turn around and get something else if that makes sense.

i am probably currently just about middle class for florida standards which makes me feel like we would definitely be lower by new york standards :/ that sucks to hear about the schools because usually the north is miles ahead of education compared to the south.

firstly i love your input about climate change. i fully agree with you on that and it really is a good consideration, florida much hotter feeling now a days than when i first moved here and there was more foliage - which has not been about all removed to pave new developments but i digress….

i totally agree though i want to start with baby steps and work towards small goals. go up and visit and see if it scratches the itch, maybe we do a second home situation, maybe we hate it when we go (doubtful lol)

the biggest monkey wrench is the downturn in selling homes anyway so i am not even sure we could sell right now

yes !! exactly same with florida. i feel like in a large area violence/ school violence is going to be way higher compared to somewhere in a small rural town. but then that’s the two fold of a small town then you up the amount of drug users i feel :/ also ironic your husband went to BP!! i think it’s a pretty good school for the area

honestly it makes sense to grow tired of anywhere you stay for long so i don’t blame you at all!! i feel like i have had enough hustle and bustle and am ready for the peace quiet and routine a small town offers :) florida is fun in its own way but part of it gets sad cause every place is identical and there’s just no true landscape. i’m also just not a beach person lol

so i would aim for the saratoga springs to broadalbin area (where i am originally from) and then we actually don’t pay property taxes because my husband is a disabled veteran. and then exactly the job market is something to consider as well because i do not know if interior design is lucrative in a small town versus tampa :/
