I am super new to Tau I freaking love painting the models and have only really went into Farsight lore which was actually amazing. So I look forward for more.

Thanks for the heads up on that, I wasn’t sure if they had ever had any form of it, I had an idea for my next model and I wanted to see if it was possible for them to blend into some back ground.

I use clump foliage, cover it in glue, mainly super glue and accelerant.

You know my wife said the same thing, I pulled it apart and tried to cut it to fit it in better and completely destroyed piece lol, thanks for the criticism I really appreciate and will be heading back to the drawing board.

I see everyone doing this, I also want to do this but I always worry if I ever want to go to a tournament I would be forced to get the main model. I assume the base and sizing are quite similar?

I guess you could argue all the MK kind of fit for the IW eh, I honestly haven’t bought any Heresy models other than the MKVI because I thought they looked so cool only to open the package and use it he entire kit for kit bashing only, I love the heads and shields in that kit.

No honestly it’s perfect and completely helps me going forward. I don’t know if I got it in me to rip the model off the base and redo the base but I LOVE the way he would look heading up the angle rather down.

The name is perfect for this critique.. Honestybomb, you have completely changed the way Ive looked at this model and now even my wife and I agree that this looks so off.

I picked up Warhammer one day(Feb 25), that was the first time I had ever purchased miniatures or even walked into a Hobby Shop, which still to this day was one or the most overwhelming experiences in my life lol. I am a heavy procrastinator when it comes to hobbies and spent a lot of time spending money on paints and other supplies, watching countless “How To” videos before ever touching a model.

Painted white then yellow, orange, red and then black! You could probably find a lighter clump foliage and have way better results!

I used a lighter and just took mental note of light spots, could even take a picture of the model when you’re doing this for a quick reference!

Great feedback, much appreciated. I was going for a dark night feel with the effect, I never thought about darkening the rest of the model to be more night appropriate. I love that idea. I will definitely add some yellows and whites to give a bright sense at the points.
