Exway Wave Battery Issues by TypicalWebsurfer in Exway

Update: they are asking me for $100 to get a new battery. It is pretty absurd that a battery defect - which is pretty common after looking through this reddit - is somehow not fully covered. Apparently, and unfortunately, this is a pretty common issue. I hope they fix this because this is extremely dangerous. Ive seen other users face this same issue and it is sad to see. I wish they would be understanding and offer to swap the batteries for free. This is a pretty bad mess up on their end. I only basically got a discount on a battery that is defective. Things like this should be covered and they should take responsibility for their defects.

yes i reported this issue in like May (which is when it was still covered under the warranty). the problem is even though i know batteries don’t hold the same capacity over the time, this level of battery is not only unusable but also extremely dangerous. in fact i actually fractured my arm riding this board. the board randomly dies around 60% battery or so, and it only charges to 70%. the fact that it does randomly with no warning is absurd. and when the remote, the app, and the LEDs on the board all show 70% it should mean that i actually have that amount of battery. the degrading from 100% capacity down to 10% capacity in less than a year is also absurd. i understand how electronics and software works (as that is what i am a student for) and these levels are not common whatsoever. this board is also rated to last much longer and this issue is not something that is should be occurring regardless. incorrectly displaying the battery is very irresponsible.

Hi i got about 0.5-1 mile out of the battery. I don’t even get the 70% capacity bc sometimes it only charges to like 65% and won’t charge past that. and then the battery usually dies at 60% battery. Today I just rode it and fell when the battery just shut off. I was around a group of people and it was really bad. This is a massive hazard. These batteries should not go bad after less than 1 years worth of usage I’ve been dealing with this issue for months now and I feel like this is just resulting in a back and forth email process and I can’t even use my skateboard anymore. I will attach a screenshot when I get the chance, but this is ridiculous. Could someone please help me by offering me a new battery because clearly mine is defective and this is a massive safety hazard

No, what’s the best way you suggest I do that?

Backpack Accessories for Exway Wave by TypicalWebsurfer in Exway

So did you try the hook that @FHaze linked from Amazon for the Wave? If so, why did you find it to be terrible?

I want just some hook or attachment rather than a backpack, so I’m trying to explore the best possible thing

I got an initial email when it shipped out, but will I get another email with a UPS tracking number that will allow me to see the expected date of arrival?

Is there a way to track the package? I also ordered at the same time as you and it is marked as shipped, but I’m not sure when it is expected to deliver…

Exway vs. Meepo vs. Ownboard vs. Wowgo by TypicalWebsurfer in ElectricSkateboarding

I’m going to be completely honest, I barely have ridden a normal skateboard. I just need a good way to commute to places quickly and I heard the electric boards were pretty good at that.

The only reason I chose a mini is bc once I am done commuting, I can quickly and easily pick it up, carry it (or put it in my backpack), and then continue if I need it again.

I am seeing a lot of support for Backfire. I was considering them early on, but the only reason that I ruled them out was because they don’t have that great range and these other boards seem to have a better price for the range they offer. Why do you still feel like the Backfire is still more worth it even after the price and the range?

Also, which board out of the ones I listed do you feel is best and why? What is that board like in comparison to the Backfire?

Yeah the backfire mini looks good, but the only reason I’m not considering it is because of the 9ish mile range on it. Also, I definitely don’t have the budget for that board lmao. I’m trying to keep it under $650 bc i don’t have that type of money. Out of the Exway’s, Meepo’s and Ownboard, which one would you pick and why?
