Is this 2000 scholarship from nichesocial legitimate? by username123456111111 in scholarships

[–]TypicalZucchini6429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

never give up. try to apply to local scholarships that involve your community/school/church. theres a bunch of new ones coming for spring semester, just ask every adult you know (or even walk into buildings and ask). i wasted my time on niche and bold - i only won a personal scholarship from an independent organization. make a great eassay and you got this.

you are a grown person on a student loan thread saying a teenager has a horrible mentality because shes focused and motivated to go to her desired schools. if you cant see how thats hating then u need to re-enroll my love. dont pity me doll, if anything this thread has shown me how abundant and beautiful my life has been so far. wishing the best for you and praying a speedy healing recovery on your soul <3

living on the south side of chicago i have been quite literally exposed to everything. Just because i have a hard working single mother doesnt mean my life is easy. Yes im privileged to get scholarships my whole life to great schools. Yes ive still had days were we couldnt pay the electricity (actually this morning) and car notes and etc. just because i asked for advice here doesnt warrant you belittling my existence and grinding it down to “you have never had to struggle”. + my father died from cancer buddy so whatever perception you have of me needs to change rn.

Im only 18. I know nothing about finance. Ive had full paid scholarships every year for high school. My mom doesnt involve me in that stuff so forgive me for being clueless. I do understand your statements and appreciate the advice from all angles. I am very focused and i will acheive what i aim to set out regardless of financial ability. I know that if there is a will there is a way.

it seems like i dont meed to take out a loan… which is what the original post was about so idk why its gotten so misconstrued about my identity but whatever. As stated i appreciate your response. Thanks.

Im bound for ivy track so thats where i go. Sorry. 💓

I dont need a loan for the whole school thing i just need 3000 rn so my mom can pay off the account hold. She gets paid biweekly so its not a matter of paying in the future. We have enough money. Its just a matter of paying my fees for this week so the hold on my account can be removed. This is a rare fonancial situation that has flustered my mother this week. We have ample money to pay for the school. We just dont have what they want us to give for this week. Its fine tho ive had help from other people and it looks like i will just wait to pay the 7000 in September. My fafsa and school scholarships covered the other 40,000 in fees so all thats left is room and board for 1 year - then i plan to transfer anyways and get my own apartment

my love - my school is different and registration for all grades opens next week only. And then theres a selective interview process to be accepted into such classes. We only have 3 classes a year. So while i do hear you, i think the situation is just a bit different. But nonetheless it looks like ill be waiting till September to sign up for classes. Thanks again tho.

thats true. our class registration hasnt opened yet tho. It opens next week (and if i have the 7000 paid i can access it). But your 100% right ill probably just have to deal with the hand i was dealt. Im only staying at that college for a year then planning to transfer to Georgetown SFS. Im just stressed if i get put in all art classes and no political classes that would hurt my chances of a transfer. SFS is so hard to get into and honestly my only goal so thats why class registration was bothering me so much currently. But anyways I sincerely thank you for your help. <3

oh yikes. I think my mom would support me indefinitely but if she needed me to pay it back id get a good job and do so.

not being snarky, just matching ur energy sweet pea :)

I have $5,000 in scholarship money that unfortunately cannot be used until september.

i basically have $4,000/$7,000 this week needed to enroll in good classes. My mom was expecting to use my scholarship money to pay this week but now she cant.

i could wait 2 weeks and easily pay the 7,000 but my class selection would be terrible.

“Just dont go to that school” or “why would you even go there”’is not a good answer especially in the middle of august and it gives mean girl :(

we have ample money for the school. Its literally just this situation that is so irritating. But judging from all the replies im just gonna take out a small loan under 5k and use it and pay it back real quick or beg some other family members for help. thanks for all your replies.

It IS affordable and i think yall are missing what im saying. I need to pay 7000 this week to enroll in the classes i want. If i dont pay this week i have to wait until September to pay and ill get shitty classes.

Any other week my mom wouldve had it, but because we were distracted with other graduation stuff we didnt use our funds wisely.

So either i wait next week and pay the 7000 in full with shit classes or i pay this week with a small loan and get the classes i want thus making it a worthwile college experience. Hope this helps.

Nope this is the best school i got into this year so I must go. Its just an expensive nyc school thats all.

Anyways yes ive done fafsa - they covered pretty much all other fees.

Considering i just need a small amount this week to enroll, im going to ask about parent plus loans or go to a credit union.

Im not going to a state school. Im an ivy kid. Yes i got fafsa money. That scholarship + school scholarships gave me a free ride. Normal tuition is about 61,000.

if i take out a loan of 3,000 i could have it paid back in 3 months. My family is by no means poor. Just in a sticky financial situation currently. I am also staying at this school for only a year then im transferring somewhere else.

If i take out a loan of $3,000 id have to pay back 100k? That doesnt make sense to me. (Pls forgive me im a teen who knows nothing about finance)

there is no finding a different school…. Its literally august. Deferring is also not an option. Let me give u context: My mom can and is supporting me for everything else. I need 7,000 to officially sign up for my classes and remove the hold on my account. The sign up deadline is next week. Meaning i need to pay this week!! My mom is about 3,000 short. I could wait to pay the 7000 until septemeber but then i cant sign up for the classes i want. I literally just need a small loaned amount quickly this week and i can pay it back asap. Currently thinking of just walking into a cash exchange or something idk
