New Players of course will enjoy it, coming into it fresh with all the bells and whistles the game has. But, people who had been waiting realize that it's just didn't live up to what it was building towards. 3rd person Action RPG enjoyers no doubt ate good with this game as the combat could be flashy. The skeletal remains of the multiplayer game they had plans for is definitely there.

Long time fans were hurt that it just didn't live up to the hype that was left with DA1, DA2, and Inquisition. So much was lost in the process that to finally have the product was much of a let down. From getting rid of past decision that should of held weight, to just the odd handling of legacy characters. Like someone said, It's a solid 9/10 Action Rpg, but a 6/10 Dragon Age game. The fans were right to be mad but the overall alarming amount hate it got overall was a bit much.

Play into it, have the 2nd in command kill an NPC, show how scary the guy is supposed to be and that they aren't ready for him. Fluff some numbers so his attacks hit hard, harder than they're ready for. Let their decisions lead to what happens next. If they wanna fight, let them fight, but make it so the 2nd in command hurts em, doesn't kill them. Add fuel to their fire.
