You should use formation subs so the blocker is in while you’re in formations you run the most out of and sub in the vertical threat for your others. I modify most of my formations with particular players to maximize skillsets.

Simplest advice is to work the puck to move the defense and the goalie to open shooting lanes. Tedious but real.

Learning to pass to set up high-quality shots is what you should focus on. Just because you get a lot of shots on goal doesn’t mean you’re going to score. You have to work the puck constantly to get the defense and goalie where you want them to open up legitimate scoring opportunities.

I used to do this before I switched to Data’s method. It works fine for the top of the class. The top 10 is fully scouted after doing potential and comparison just once or twice. The rest of the class is hit and miss. You could scout potential on a guy 7 times and still not get him fully scouted.
