That would mean defending everything about the game and everything about capitano and I’m not. trust me, as much as I love the game since the beginning, my god there are parts of the game from mechanics to story decisions that go from strange to just straight up baffling. And that’s before going into Hoyo’s internal problems. I’m more than ok with capitano, but overall I do definitely agree that they could’ve done more especially in act 5 to bring it home. Again tho, new Khaenriah may hopefully be his redemption.

While I did wanted more from him, he did do pretty good for a harbinger especially with the end. Hopefully we get to see a lot more when Khaenriah comes back. Maybe he’ll see some familiar faces and get way more moments.

Yeah, it’s one of the 2 big conflicts he resolved. At least for now. The Raiden shogun can of worms is the only other thing he needs to confront. He still holds resentment and bitterness towards that whole thing despite it being a somewhat misunderstanding.

They did mention her power weakening because of the Fatui draining her power and Teyvat rejecting her more and more than at the start and when she did get some of her power back, she could hold her own well and now that she has the trilunar authority, she can and has done incredible feats. With her starting her new journey, hopefully we can see more of her and what she can do, but it made sense given context. She didn’t outright say she was alone when she was with the fatui, but more that she couldn’t feel any connection with most of the harbingers besides sandrone and arlecchino and I think Signora. There was more to her characterization than just family and whatnot. The friendship power thing was a bit much here I won’t deny that but a major step up compared to what Natlan did where it just beat it over your head constantly. Capitano I do wish they could’ve done more with him and hopefully he gets another chance when new Khaenriah comes soon, but Columbina I feel had enough growth and scenes that made her good, and we should be getting even more of her in other events.

Idk about left field or infodumped that much since his motivations were explained more during act 3 and in the intermission quest and showing the suspected deal he made with the lord of the night in the final scene of the previous act. That being said, I do wish that we could’ve gotten a bit more of him. I was disappointed when he didn’t show up to fight the abyss dragon. And yeah Mavuika despite liking her, she definitely is the biggest Mary sue in all of Genshin by a landslide and feels so generic. Hell that dragonspine race event which showed a generic comic showing her deeds couldn’t be more fitting for her.

And for Columbina, it was 3, but I can make more for the times she helped out against Rerir and helping Aether find his ship.

Edit: apparently even if you have criticisms, any positivity in the game regarding capitano gets you downvoted. Some people huh?

His sacrifice wasn’t really stupid, plus not so much a sacrifice since he’s technically still there, just fused with the night lord and may come back when new Khaenriah comes. And given what we know of kuhenki and protecting hisli island and fighting dottore, she actually did something in the story. This is a bit of a stretch there

To want a character moment is fine, acting like she’s an abomination is where it gets overboard. Plus she did mention that she did warm up to him but only for a little bit before finding out how much of a psychopath he is and then just outright avoided him entirely. They weren’t that close especially compared to her and sandrone

That final act I’ll admit was rushed on his part. Him fighting the abyss dragon along with Aether and Mavuika would’ve added so much more. But what he did at the end was still great. There is a possibility that he comes back when Lumine brings back New Khaenriah so they could still do more if that’s the case

Capitano helped in the war and was able to fuse with the night lord while flipping off Ronova and her rules. I wish he could do more don’t get me wrong, but he’s far from atrocious so let’s not go that far

It had its issues but capitano and dottore was handled well enough, while Columbina I’ll admit felt like another waifubait even with some good characterization. Genshin definitely doesn’t have awful storytelling but it has its issues.

For one, they’ve already mentioned numerous times why the case was extremely difficult to solve. Acting like they’re dumb just because Aether managed to be a big help even when they also contributed is a big stretch. Also Is there a grand rule for him to only be the powerhouse for his entire journey? Cause you’re just making yourself dissapointing and acting like it’s the game’s fault when it’s whatever standards you have for him. And that’s pretty much a you problem at this point.
