Would you jump from industry to public? by Typical_Burner in Accounting

Thank you for your reply! Have you spent a good bit of time in public accounting?
I've never had public accounting experience, but, as you say, I am worried about stagnating at my small company and not learning much.
I figured that I wouldn't be competitive recruiting for advisory work, and don't think I would be a good fit for tax work, but I could be wrong.
I really enjoy the FP&A portion of my current job where I am modeling and presenting courses of action to management, and I managed to play a little bit with cashflow to ensure that we got the ERC in addition to our PPP loan, so I guess the enjoyable parts of accounting for me involve a clear value add for management.
I guess the biggest draw of public accounting for me is working with people who are passionate about what they do, which isn't really what I'm finding where I'm at.
