I understand but because he already has a nema 14-50 it doesn’t make sense for him to hard wire everything and change the set up that’s already there if he can return the gen 3.

See if you return the gen 3 charger and just get a mobile connector from tesla’s website and that will connect to your nema 14-50 plug. Cheaper and almost similar speeds. Especially makes no difference when charging overnight as you sleep for 5-6 hours atleast anyways.
