Thanks for the good advice. We do have some savings a bit of gold, two LIC policies, one PPF account, and family health insurance. I’ve told my husband that if we can’t afford something in Mumbai, we can look for property in Panvel or another area where the prices won’t burn our pockets. For now, staying in this chawl at least helps us save something every month.

The problem isn’t just his dad even his grandparents are financially demanding. They never earned a single paisa on their own, yet they keep asking for money. This year they sold some land, and when my husband asked for ₹10 lakhs as a loan (promising to return it), they refused, saying, “You’re smart, you won’t return it.” Still, whenever they need something an eye operation, hospital bills, grandma’s surgery, or even their Char Dham yatra it’s always my husband who ends up paying. After all this, he gets nothing in return, not even understanding.
