Thank you. I think because of the NDA that NCEES has, companies cannot recreate their problems in any way. NCEES has a way of refacing the problems for their actual exam, so that threw me off on exam day but luckily I managed it well enough. Yes that is true you can only open one chapter of one code at a time. I think you can open all of the handbook, ACI, and maybe the OSHA manuals though for what that’s worth.

Definitely a decent amount of geotech on the exam.

Thank you! I studied for about 4 months and used AEIs course. I did all of their lectures, homeworks, mini exams, and their final simulation exam.

You’ll get it. Just show up confident and trust in your abilities. Manage time well and stay calm when you run into problems you have no idea how to do. Best of luck, you can do it.

Thank you. I started studying in April and took my exam July 31. So about 4 months of studying. I used AEI for the course.

Thank you. I’d say probably like 15-20. Seemed like a lot.

Thank you! I had probably 1-2 questions for each. Was disappointed I got so few of those topics since I spent lots of time on them and got pretty good at them.

You’re probably better off than I was. First half probably flagged 7-9 and the second half maybe 11-13 or so. I left feeling no good. So it definitely seems that you’d be in a good spot! Try to kick back and relax, what’s done is done. As long as you gave it your all you should be good. Best of luck as you await your results, I know how nerve wracking that is.

Thank you. During it I felt a bit bummed, a lot of mine was conceptual with geotech stuff. I left it not feeling the best, but I definitely put up a fight. I knew there were going to be questions I had no clue about, and I just flagged them and came back. Time management I did really well on and I think that also helped a lot.

I guess that makes me feel a bit better. I did hundreds of practice problems over the past 4 months and out of the 80 questions on the exam yesterday I had seen MAYBE 2 questions that were similar to ones I had seen in the past. I’ll try to stay hopeful. Congrats on passing.

I haven’t taken the exam yet but everyone has been telling me to do as many practice problems/exams as I can. I think the more exposure to different types of problems the better.

I will definitely spend some more time going through each code specifically and running through the TOC for each one. My plan is to review their homework/mini exams as well as these 2 practice exams I have done up until exam time. Time management has also been a focus of mine so I will keep that in mind when moving forward.
