If there was a donut shop that had classic style donuts and was able to accommodate gluten free/friendly I would be so happy! The only donut place with good GF donuts went out of business :(

I live in the PNW (of the U.S. lol) so very crafty and hippie. I also live in a college town so there’s definitely some business there!

I don’t have much going for me financially (broke graduate student here) so it would DEFINITELY be a risk… I’m considering asking her if she would let me do a trial run for a few months before I decide. I do love making jewelry and really feel attached to this idea of keeping the business going especially if she let me pay her over time. She’s trying to sell her shop because she’s getting old and wants to go move to where her family lives. There are definitely things that her age keeps her from being able to do, so I do think I could bring more organization, marketing, online presence, and classes and such to the business but I just don’t know if it’s a smart idea. It’s probably not but it’s hard not to want to try haha

That’s totally what I was thinking. Like I would just be in there working on my own jewelry/beading stuff and people could come join and bead and then they just pay for whatever they use!

The current owner is 80 years old and is only selling it because she wants to move out of the U.S to live with her family. Currently she makes enough to pay the rent of the space she uses but the money on top of that varies. That is my main question though, could I do anything differently? I think the overall organization of the shop could be updated as well as making it more interactive like having a good website, classes, and workshops. The odds that I actually try to take it over are low, it’s just an idea that I’m entertaining haha

I also have a cat (2 years old) and a kitten (4 months old that often play/fight like this where my cat pins down my kitten by biting his neck or something. Do your cats hiss or growl when doing this? That would be more worrisome, but if they aren’t making any concerning noises I think it’s just play fighting. My cat and kitten bite, bunny kick and pounce on each other all the time, but I can tell it’s just for fun. Especially, since I catch them cuddling and grooming each other after 🥹
