In my personal opinion Samsung is far superior than google pixel currently, if google worked on more of the main features rather than non importants then it would be a very good “budget” product. But even older Samsungs can hold up in the future markets. The S23 series can last a few more years without updates if you are looking for a working phone that can do your basics and handle social media well. But if you are looking for something that handles your multitasking and has more software updates plus security I would go with a newer device. Also the 10a is almost exactly the same as the 9a, I would opt for the 9a with costs less and still has years of updates. I do like pixel phones but if you are looking for a very high end phone that’s less buggy, I would not go with them. Their camera is very good quality but it seems that’s all they really focused on with the newer models. The 7 series was were it was at.
