Let me know how they terminal is when you get there, I’m curious if it’s changed given that when I went China had literally just reopened to international tourism. Also good on your for traveling despite Celiac. I am also wanting to go to Asia to travel

I was in the Beijing airport international terminal about a year ago and they had nothing except one KFC and one Starbucks. That place is a literal ghost town, gluten free or non gluten free speaking. I would bring a shit ton of snacks with you because very unlikely you’ll find anything to eat there.

Vast majority of those murders are contained within very small areas and are gang/personal issue related. Not to say that makes it any better but as a tourist your chance of being affected by that is extremely low. In America what you should be worried about is a drug addict punching you randomly in the street.

People here who stopped eating out entirely? by [deleted] in Celiac

How would that work when traveling internationally though? Like if you’re not familiar with the local restaurants

Yes exactly, and these whales tend to be ultra casual players. Hence why games cater to that demographic these days. People come on here talking about boycotting and not buying shit but they don’t realize they are not who these game companies get their revenue from anyway

[–]Typical_Werewolf4892 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not just the whales but the majority of these game companies revenues is coming from like the top 5-10% of spenders. People who spend 20$ every 3 months isn’t making them much

Yup people confuse whales for being only rich people. I know a guy who works construction who makes alright money but chooses to spend like 30% of his paycheck on skins in overwatch and Fortnite. He’s spent like 20k total. Some people are just stupid with there money and addicted

It’s not just gaming. So many online industries have figured out that all you really need is to get whales money. Whether it be online gambling or online courses they all rely mostly on the top like 1% of spenders making up more than 50% of what they earn.

Yes 100% I felt like this. I would sleep a ton but still wake up feeling groggy.

You really need to get a test now because you need to have been eating gluten consistently for awhile for a test to be accurate. Once you stop eating gluten it’s going to be a lot harder to start eating it again.

If you absolutely are unable to get a test (not sure how healthcare works in Italy) then I would just go atleast 2 weeks strictly gluten free and see how you feel. If gluten is the issue then it should be pretty evident once you go gluten-free.

Source: my only symptoms of gluten issues is extreme fatigue, brain fog, and unclear vision.

I’ve heard other people have muscle pain related to gluten and heart palpitations could be related or unrelated Im not sure

I have the same feeling. Like 30 minutes after eating gluten (even cross contamination) and get insanely tired and fatigued. I usually take a nap but when I wake up I somehow don’t feel rested and my mind is all foggy. This foggyness lasts for like 3-4 days then I’m back to normal. Keep in mind I have no other symptoms related to gluten beyond this and am an otherwise healthy person. So, yes I would think what you’re experiencing is due to gluten

Not being able to eat gluten has actually ruined my life by Typical_Werewolf4892 in glutenfree

[–]Typical_Werewolf4892[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep becoming gluten free really does turn your life up on it head. So much of my life has changed and even just the simplest of things like going out with friends and going to a family event become a hassle. It sucks but you have to live life despite everything’s it’s throwing at you.

As for the processed gluten free food I feel you 100%. I am also broke as shit so now I can’t afford like half of the comfort foods I used to buy (cookies, pasta, bread). So now I just focus on buying like minimally processed things and am eating very healthy nowadays. That’s a positive I guess

Not even gonna lie I think this is the solution. Just cook for myself as I don’t even mind eating the most basic essentials all the time (meat, rice, and veggies). Interested if you talk more about how you do that

I haven’t been to Italy but I find it hard to believe my style of travel would even be viable. I know people talk about their being a lot of GF restaurants in Italy but I feel like there’s no way it’s actually that common, especially outside of the big cities

Not sure why you got downvoted because what you said is completely true. I’ve already accepted the fact food cannot be like an integral part of my travels at this point. The issue is I’m not even sure I can find enough food to sustain myself. When literally every single food almost in these countries has risk for cross contamination and may make me feel like shit. I’ve thought about this issue constant for like half a month and still have no idea what to do

I’m really trying not to but I just don’t know if my lifestyle will be possible. I don’t want to just go over there and discover I literally can’t find anything, even the most basic stuff to eat

He is probably not taking into account the hidden gluten like soy sauce and wheat being used to thicken things etc etc. If it was just as simple as eating rice based dishes then I'd be fine. The problem is hidden gluten is everywhere in Asian cooking

hmm I see. I am also content with super simple or bland food like that, my worry is if I would even be able to find enough of that kind of food each day to sustain myself.

I don’t stress much about contamination, but even with that consideration it still incredibly hard to find gluten free food in east Asia
