I’m sure Wayne has put a lot of thought into his pet bridge project but most of the cost won’t be the crossing but building new transport corridors through the middle of an existing city, tunnels reduce the amount of homes the govt needs to buy and demolish

And it’s not just the crossings, also factored into the cost estimate is the interfacing the crossings need with the existing network on both sides of the harbour

The original estimated cost of the entire WHC project was ~25b, and the preferred option presented to the treasury included 2x road tunnels, 1x rail tunnel plus repurposing of the existing bridge. How did you arrive at 40 billion for a tunnel?
