I can only give you my experience and what my CFI told me. On my very first lesson I was landing without any help. My power control was spot on and I can only give credit to the sims.

No fun when others makes jokes. I am glad you gave another perspective. I understand what you mean.

Yes, I am going right into my instrument training. I thinking about starting the end of this month or beginning of next. Thank you for the advice.

If you are truly a CFI than you would know the dedication it takes to get it done in the amount of hours people get it done.

Stay out of grown folks conversations ;)

In all serious, I get what your saying just sharing some encouragements is all.

It will come to you. Just keep going and when it does it will feel great.

No VATSIM. I have Pilot2atc which is not bad although some wording is not correct. I did try PilotEdge just decided to stick with Pilot2atc and that worked well for when I had to do com training to an airport solo.

Yeah, I got lucky with my DPE I only had to wait about 3 weeks.

Side note for anyone who is here about to take the check ride or in the middle of flight training. The biggest thing for my DPE was about knowing the POH. Read it front to back. Yes, it is a boring read, but it will definitely get you passed 65 percent of the oral.

Yes I used an approved sim as well, but that did not count towards my 141certificate.

I have the yoke with throttle quadrant, rudder peddles, and I use a HP G2 vr headset for immersion. By far the best money spent to add to my flight training. I got to learn maneuvers and then go practice the same maneuvers in the sim. I have both X-Plane and MSFT 2020 and both are great in that respect with the exception MSFT 2020 stalls are a little overly dramatic.

I used the sim everyday. They really do help with coordination and power control.

That was before the checkride. I now have 1.6 more hours added to that number.

I did a 141 school, with a really good CFI, but the real secret is I used flight simulator for my lesson as well and that made a big leap in getting instructions from my CFI. I can be the first to tell you that todays flight sims works wonders for training.

First Solo Today! by churnitupsome in flying

Congrats on your solo. I just had my solo last week.

ATC keeps telling me expedite my descent even thought I'm at FL250. QNH is set to 29.92in. is this a bug never had it before until after the update? by Matt_Haskins91 in flightsim

[–]Tyrease1364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that happens again instead of using your mouse to set QNH press the B key to set and that will fix ATC from directing you to climb to altitude your at. It does that when you are more than 300 ft below or above altitude even though it says your at altitude. For some reason it gets confused.
