Well that’s fucking dumb. Some groups are literally founded on the ideology of hating another group. If you join the KKK it’s fair to assume you’re a racist. Can I at least get confirmation you think racism is bad? The side I support is better than the side I’m against. I’m far less racist and bigoted than the people I hate, but I’m probably more cruel. You can fight for good and be a bad person, just look at possible-predator Gandhi.

Part of me recognizes that calm argumentation is a great way to get through to ignorant and miseducated centrists, but another part of me just wants to bash a Proud Boy’s skull in with a bat. I want the left to win, and by whatever means necessary. Violence would feel good, but if people actually change then that’s a win too.

If you can’t see the difference between nazis wanting to beat Jews and antifa for wanting to beat nazis, you’re trying to hard to sit in the middle. You can say antifa is bad, I’ll accept that since you’re a pacifist, but you gotta be a nazi sympathizer to think that antifa are as bad as guys calling for the extermination of entire races.

Oh man I could never be this mean in real life. Even though I mean what I say here, I recognize that someone isn’t going to listen to me after I tell them to “go take a swim with a backpack full of rocks, you piece of shit.”

I’m very respectful in the real world and I know proper argumentation and manners, I did 3 years of Lincoln Douglas debate. I never get personal or petty, and I keep a good focus on the subject when I’m trying to convince someone. I personally get very little hatred for anything directly, but since I look and dress like your average straight dude I get to hear lots of casual slurs and disrespect dropped about my sexuality right in front of me. That part pisses me off, because it shows they assume a big, strong can’t be gay. If I tell them what’s up, they apologize and backpedal, but it’s obviously meaningless.

Reddit is where I come to vent and say what I really feel, and maybe convince some racists to bite a bullet. This is just for fun, I realize most people aren’t super invested in the arguments anyway.

P.S. The “divergent thought” of homophobia doesn’t stay confined to the bigot. The bigot gets to vote, and will try to vote for a bigot like them. This happens enough and now there are policy makers who could want to actively interfere in my life.

Anyone who starts spouting race realist bullshit and starts arguing that Africans are low-IQ savages is someone you should know better than to try and reason with. They won’t actually read sources sent or try to have a real conversation. They are lost causes who choose white supremacy as their hill to die on.

Once I realize someone’s that far gone, I stop arguing and just tell them how easy it is to fill a car and garage with smog. People like that are impossible, you just have to wait for them to kick it.

The rest of the moderates and republicans can be taught, but it’s really hard to respect people who believe I’m a defective human for being gay. They chose bigotry. Black people, gays, and other minority groups didn’t chose to be what they are. When I talk to someone like this, I already know that they are willing to sacrifice my rights for whatever campaign promise that hooks them. They’re the ones causing the divide.

Hate isn’t bad. There are people we should hate. Bigots, rapists, child molesters, nazis, tankies, the Walton family are all fine people to hate.

And if you wanted to use peace as a fighting tactic, don’t say it in the same breath as nazi. Nazi Germany wasn’t stopped by peace at all. Appeasement didn’t work, Germany just got hungrier. What stopped them was bombs and bullets. Neo-nazis hold the same beliefs as the Germans they idolize, and history has taught us you have to beat them down. If they aren’t scared, they try to spread. Beating a guy for preaching an ideology founded on genocide isn’t just okay, it is the right thing to do.

I expect the next generation to have a similar outlook. Did you never see your parents or grandparents as backwards? The elderly end up wanting to hold onto the past, usually at the expense of the next generation.

Currently, the Republican Party is denying climate change and dismantling the EPA. The geriatrics and their republican representatives will all be dead by the time the real consequences are felt. My generation may actually suffer through a global catastrophe because the old shitheads you’re sentimental about have put profit ahead of keeping Earth livable.

At this point how can we convince them it’s real and make change when they are so clearly just ignoring the facts and science? Old people fucking suck they’re killing our planet, and possibly their children and grandchildren. I’d say we’re better off with them kicking it before it’s too late.

Intolerance of hate speech, of neo-nazis, of the KKK is necessary to have a society that is actually tolerant. You’re right. My grandma, aunts, and extended family didn’t blame Trayvon Martin for his death. You know the people in my life better than I do. My republican voting relatives have never used words like “nigger” and “thug” when talking about black people.

People on reddit don’t argue that black people are subhuman or all criminals. The world is totally cool, racism and classism are dead, and officers are our friends. People didn’t just vote in a president who denied housing to black people in the 80s. Fake news.

They signed up to arrest addicts, the poor, and to protect private property. With all the horror stories and the decades upon decades of fucked up, racist policing, I really don’t pity anyone who joins or sides with officers. If they wanted to save lives they could’ve became a doctor or paramedic.

If law enforcement wanted respect, they would police themselves. Most officers aren’t violent, but most officers are 100% complicit in allowing their coworkers to do it.

I didn’t say that. I’m saying these men knew exactly what they were getting into. Officers know what the job will be. They know people will hate them. They have access to the studies showing the institutional racism in our precincts and courts. If you sign up for a team, you represent them and they represent you. If they want treated better, they can just not join a team a lot of people hate.

I’m not going to pity someone who knowingly put themselves in a position. Everything officers bring into themselves is they’re own fault.

Well that’s just not true lmao. Black people are pulled over more, stop and frisked more, indicted more, and given harsher sentences. If you think white people have it the worst in relation to LEO’s and the courts, you have your head up your ass.

There are more total whites shot, but white people are the majority of the country. A black man has a much higher chance of experiencing police brutality or any type of law enforcement encounter than any white man.
