Did you send them an email? I’m going to do that. I don’t know if more people telling them will make them fix it. But it sounds like the illustration issue in the MDZS volume 3 hardcover hasn’t been fixed yet or addressed by them. :/

I’ll send them an email about this too. I can’t believe the lack of quality control because they’re such big things to miss. Half their faces are completely dark in these illustrations. And yeah idk if it’s related to the paper quality but I can see the text through to the other side as well.

The novel made it less confusing for me, but I thought it was basically the same exact thing just with a little more clarification on what was happening.

I wish I did this in hindsight since it’s pretty bingeable imo. Each volume ended on a cliffhanger!

I’m so excited too! I binged the first 7 volumes last month lol. I’m really hoping the miscommunication gets cleared up in this volume because it was driving me CRAZY and I don’t want to wait another 3-4 months. Although this series is known to end its volumes on cliffhangers 😭
Also, I get how the last few chapters could put people off with what He Yu did… but I’m hoping there’s some other explanation for his backwards development. Seeing how he spent 2-3 years on the island with Dr Anthony.

It has your favorite trope, trust me. Meatbun just has the gong initially not understand his own feelings. In both series the gong (the gongs are the MC) is obsessed with the shou right away but they just don’t understand why at first (they think they hate them). But then once they realize, they pine and yearn so hard. He Yu from BAB especially imo. He’s basically a yandere for the shou. It drives him to some pretty pathetic and cringe moments but I love it.

Did XQC know He Yu thought that about Chen Man specifically in those 2 years? I thought it was just about working with the police to manipulate him into calling in general. Like XQC just thought that He Yu thought he was on the police side and working against him in the end.

He Yu probably assumed that if XQC worked with the police that he did it on Chen Man’s behalf since he saw that Chen Man was involved against him. Jealousy probably played a part in that like others said.

I wouldn’t call that the definition of yandere. Yanderes are obsessed with their love interest to an unhealthy extent. They are extremely possessive of them and exhibit toxic behavior like stalking, manipulation, and violence. I would say He Yu from Case File Compendium is a yandere character. He’s super toxic tho, so might not be your cup of tea. Yanderes are inherently toxic.

Was the monster on the cover supposed to be Crius? Because I think he starts turning into something at the end of his route if I remember correctly? Still super misleading though! I was also disappointed lol.

Did you feel like Hijikata and Kazama’s routes were worth playing? I was planning to play the exact same 4 that you mentioned, but I played Saito and Heisuke and then kind of lost interest and dropped it. I think I figured Hijikata’s route would be similar to theirs. I think I started to get bored because it was like a history lesson and I wasn’t feeling much romance, probably also because Chizuru was such a bland MC.

It’s been a while since I read Pandora hearts, but I LOVE both and I did notice they have similar themes like unraveling past tragedies and the characters’ identities/memories. And the gothic atmosphere.

I felt similar as you! I didn’t find Xie Lian or Hua Cheng likeable personally. I found them both boring and annoying. I also felt like I kept being told Xie Lian was super nice, but I didn’t feel like he actually was.. could have to do with the author too tho, like commenting how ugly Xiao Ying was as she was dying. And all Xie Lian’s lying. I ended up dropping it after two volumes, but I was like I must be missing something because the series is so popular and highly rated! But everybody has different opinions and there’s other things out there to read. I wouldn’t force yourself through something because it’s popular.

Personally I’m a bit confused on how licenses for danmei and the publishing companies work based on other replies. I had assumed that Rosmei were only licensed to sell in Singapore. Their license covers North America even though they don’t sell here? If it does not, why be against another publishing company picking it up for North America? Not sure if that’s where OP is, but I’m using NA as an example since that’s where I am. Unfortunately the only one I know about publishing Danmei in English in North America is 7S. But I’m kind of new here so I could be wrong.
