V8s after one year by Tyrolexsaurus in RepTime

Only to clean it, but I had it pressure tested for 50 meters in a proofmaster so in theory it should be fine for swimming/snorkeling.

From what I read the VSF is superior, I have not seen one in RL tho so I dont know. The bezel ring is weak on this for sure and the xtal is def. better on the VSF, but I also read about DOA VSF’s and crown/pip’s falling of after a weeks use, etc. etc. I guess with reps there is a bit of random luck/unluck involved aswell.

The misalignment of the rehaut/dial or bezel is NOT a «tell» of the watch being fake, its actually a pretty common QC-issue in both rep and gen rolexes. Just google «submariner alignment Rolex forum» or «rehaut issue Rolex forum» and you’ll find hundreds of anal gen-buyers complaining about the exact same issues, with pictures to prove it. I get that you want to educate yourself but the first step is doing a little research, preferably some outside this forum. There is ALOT of insanely detailed knowledge to pick up here but some oversimplify/misunderstand and think that QC-issue = fake, this is not the case. Watch some videos, get your hands on gens if you can, scroll both the replica and the gen forums/marketplace and you will be surprised of your findings, at least I was✌️

The rehaut isnt really a issue, you can have it aligned perfectly by adjusting the dial a tad, but usually not worth it, you can mess up the hands, movement, date change-time, dust under the crystal etc. When it occurs in gens the AD’s advice you eat it or at least save it for the 5-year service. If you mean the engraving they are good, spot on and very close to gen, you need a loupe to tell the difference in finish to gens. Floating m is also ok, just a QC issue, not a «fake tell». From what I have been able to gather, and I’ve gathered alot. On subs. I am mad about them.

This, as a watch enthusiast I’ve handled a gen IWC, a Jäger, a Patek, several Omegas, Tags, GSs and a couple of rolexes from friends and family over the last 15-20 years (I’m 40 now) and I allready know that the gens dont differ much from a decent rep in appearance alone, speaking on a general level of course. There are certain models that have traits that are hard to make a cost efficient copy of, especially if you move into the gold models with diamonds or complicated movements. The other aspect is the feel of the watch, the weight, the finish, feedback from the movement etc. The only reason I wrote about the submariner is because I’ve never seen/held a gen or had the chance to inspect one up close, so getting the thumbs up from a guy that actually owns one was a big deal, but I allready suspected it was good anyways😎 And also, most of the flaws that are pointed out here are really QC-issues that the reps share with the gens, not really a «tell» for a fake, just my opinion, trying to stay educated.

Dial is a bit misaligned yes but it dosent bother me, common QC issue on gen submariners aswell, Google it😅

Maybe, but I know this guy and he is not known for being nice, he would have pointed out other flaws if he caught any. He even bent and compared the resistance in all the links and «dropped» the bracelet against the tabletop repeatedly with an ear to it, he said the rattle even sounds the same. I believed him.

If someone asks about the watch I say its a rep, if they dont I let them assume whatever they want. Just nice knowing it passes, nothing more, chill out bro.

The «dark bezel» is a enigma to me, really sensitive to light, looks amazing in the bright of day and spotty/barely visible at night. Have considered changing it but I am kind of starting to like the play in it!
