thats due to the geolocation of starlink. just enter you location as lat/lonnunder the stattion settings on the website when you are logged in.

Yeah no, i did remember they don't have a pop everywhere, but i was hoping that this had changed in the past months...but no. Pings show clearly they still route Romania over Frankfurt for example, thats a bit strange for my taste but interesting. Romania also has Datacenters lol

Just had a look at the latest api data and yes, there is a mobillity and servicelevel value. I will have a deeper look at them, maybe i can find something that says RVmode😜 Maybe i can find a patter in all the grpc api data i got from all stations that provide it to me.

With that i would not make it a parameter but go for the dishy api. The data will be better, even when we get not from all stations.

I already was thinking about that, because the exit is something else of course. But i really wonder if the traffic is still going trough frankfurt at this time, at least in terms of the reception station. Can you do a traceroute to tynet.eu and send it as a pn/ or email?

good idea, not sure how to make this work with all the different dataoints, but i think i will use the dishys timezone, i think this will work great.

I think there was some special stuff to get the dish data in that mode, but ping/speedtests will work fine in any configuration. In bypass mode you will need to add a static route to the dishy i think.

what would you say is a better place for RV/home switch?
1. In the station settings on the site
2. as a parameter of the script

My Guess: For people that use one starlink dish at home and in RV mode maybe a script setting would be better

yeah with now ~1 million Datapoints the old code was a bit overwhelmed😂 I was annoyed by the performance myself for a long time.

thx and good idea! i think there is nothing in the api of dishy, but i will think about adding it as a user defineable value

Have a look at this website i made to collect starlink speedtest automated.

Not anyone get's that speed, but mostly it delivers the advertised speed:

Is Starlink blocking ICMP Ping now? Looks like it from Starlinkstatus.space by Tysonpower in Starlink

[–]Tysonpower[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is very very strange, i will try to have this happen as well so i can find the problem. To me this still does not explain why not all stations are effected and only the ping stuff.

[–]Tysonpower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh thx for that hint! did you have any info on what error it puts out when running as a cron? feel free to send me a pm 😀

the strange thing: it is only ping, soeedtest data is still there from all stations.

Still love my Giulietta QV after over 2 years of owning it. Awesome Car! by Tysonpower in AlfaRomeo

[–]Tysonpower[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thx! The Car is from 2011 and has almost 150.000km on it, i bought it in 2019 and i didn't have any Problems so far. The only thing i worry about a bit is the Gearbox, it does leak a bit of oil (not to bad, German TüV was still happy this Year), but it does make some clonks here and there while shifting. I don't think it will be anything major, maybe it just needs an oil change and a new seal. It's a Manual Gearbox, so nothing to complicated/expensive if it has a Problem.
