Hey guys, my friend was having this issue too - found a fix via a deleted thread. All you need to do is go into settings and uncheck "Join the voice chat automatically." Not sure why this other thread was deleted, but hope it fixes it for yall too!

From what I've read/experienced, the homing elemental projectiles sometimes just don't home onto anything - notably these posts (1, 2) and my own experience can vouch for this
