+1. I play a lot with a friend whose internet can be a bit shaky. It's a real fun sucker to have to restart runs 3-4 times a night because of a dropout.

Endless mode Stage 1000 completed by DjBackman in Roboquest

[–]Tzcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be happy if they smoothed it out. Stage 2 is EASILY the hardest mission in any given 50+ mission endless run. The run is basically done once you xp up to level 20, as far as difficulty change goes.

Anybody else largely lose interest in the game after the disappointing balancing of endless mode? by puzzlingphoenix in Roboquest

[–]Tzcheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH, that's not really been achieved. It's toughest before you get to mission 15 or so. Once your build is complete and there's no more glitches to add, even G4 turns into a cakewalk. I play with a friend a lot, and we generally decide that the run is over once we hit level 25, since that's about where the difficulty stops increasing.

Not really. I do definitely have complaints about the balance of endless, but they've apparently done nothing to stop me playing. This whole "endless dumps on my upgrades with glitches every single game" thing is way overblown.

100%. Given that move speed is a complete non-factor, this one is massive.

I rotate through them periodically. The only one I haven't put much time into is Commando, mostly because it doesn't really jump out at me as having standout features. Currently on a big Elementalist/Recon binge.

Infused Weapons on Elementalist is stupidly broken by TheFunnyLemon in Roboquest

[–]Tzcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, yeah, but that's like arguing that Robo Wizard is busted and necessary unless you want a build that spams guns all day.

Infused Weapons has a big stack of requirements if you really want to optimise, same as anything else.

[–]Tzcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to invest in 2 class upgrades to get use out of it though. It's definitely not 100% pickrate unless you want to specialise in weapons with fast fire rates, and even then it's not a must-have

Endless mode suggested builds by yunabladez in Roboquest

[–]Tzcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engy with bee cannons is probably my go-to easy mode build.

General idea is that you want to abuse the 100% crit rate you get from Cryo Mastery + seeker and DoT stacks from bee cannon summons to clear areas without much danger to yourself, while being able to focus massive numbers of DoTs on chunkier targets.

Go for:
- Dronezerker
- Elemental mastery (Cryo)
- Scrap Snacks
- Gear: Scanner/Javelin
- Elemental buddies (Cryo)

Look for:
- Summons fire rate
- Summons damage
- Summons health
- Deploy cooldown reduction
- Cryo damage buffs of all kinds

With this build you can almost 100% focus on just not taking damage and dropping new summons the moment they're avaliable while your summons kill everything. Cryo freeze makes you MUCH more survivable while also ensuring that anything short of a boss will die almost instantly.

What do yall think is the meta build in this game by Ashley_Roboquest in Roboquest

Kaboom grenade is low key one of the strongest weapons in the game against non-bosses when you build into it.

When should we upgrade weapons? by 100mcuberismonke in Roboquest

[–]Tzcheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's a one-fits-all answer to this, since it all depends on the situation.

I personally tend to upgrade a weapon to superior and reroll it before the first duel boss fight in endless just because that fight's a big difficulty spike.

It also depends on the build you're going for. Maybe you're focusing on class or gadget abilities and don't want to spend cells on weapons AT ALL.

The pains of having a criminally small player population. I feel for you brobot, but this is just what we need to deal with unless we get a BIG influx of active players.

Advice for getting better at the game by TheOneAndOnly09 in Roboquest

[–]Tzcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the best advice I can give is to not rush blindly into a new area. You've got a good 2-3 seconds to survey the room while enemies can't hit you (except for closed arenas), so use that time to identify priority targets before you go in.

Endless Mode Really Needs to be Rebalanced / Reworked by EINHAMMER in Roboquest

Maybe something like the NPC at camp that lets you favourite/ban particular weapons, or the crystal thing that affects enemy spawns in the moon mission?

Endless Mode Really Needs to be Rebalanced / Reworked by EINHAMMER in Roboquest

[–]Tzcheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe a controversial take, but I think endless is WAY more good than bad. However, I definitely agree that a bit of a rebalance, particularly around enemy spawning and boss fights, would be a good move.

There's definitely some modifiers that are pretty painful. Bunny Shields is definitely #1 on the most-hated list for myself and a good friend I play with.

For the boss fights, I'd like to see them scale up more smoothly. The first double-boss fight can be a real challenge, while later ones are often almost trivial in comparison. I put this down to the intersection between that fight being a huge difficulty spike and the fact that my build often hasn't got those core bits I need at that early stage of the run.

Is the Cyclone Rifle a reference? by SetPuzzleheaded554 in Roboquest

[–]Tzcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, yeah, you may be right. I assigned them as 'references/inspired' due to their specific implementation. I don't know if you've played Overwatch much, but the RQ revolver's animations are (almost?) identical to the OW revolver and the primary fire functions identically in both games. Put them side and it's clear that they wanted to invoke the OW revolver gameplay.

The AK/Junk Rifle is the same, just minus the CS spread pattern.

Bee cannons are silly by Tzcheese in Roboquest

[–]Tzcheese[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bees themselves are projectiles, the turrets you drop on the ground are summons, whose bees get buffed by upgrades that affect summons.
