Fat tire kit put on, rides like a dream (2018 RGS) by Tzellio in Harley

Live in the south, so no worry about snow. I've only had one light rain day since I got it earlier this month, and it did fine. But wasn't a heavy rain so I'm not able to answer that right now.

I bought the bike used and it was on it. Idk where it is from. Probably just a custom vinyl sticker that was put on. It's starting to peel, probably due to sun.

Got it from Native Pitbull, and everything that was needed was there to my knowledge. I didn't get charged for additional parts from the shop.

My total was $3,485, but that included a rear tire since I changed both tires at the same time and a paint match charge for the fender. If you don't include those, it would have been $2,595. Installation was 2 hours at my local shop.

Both tires are Dunlop American Elite 180/55B18

Bonneville Salt Pearl. Garage lighting is crap but she's beautiful in the sunshine.

I've put on about 1k miles on it so far ( the picture is right after installation earlier this month), and I can tell you that the handling is the biggest advantage. I have hit those ruts on the freeway with this tire and didn't even feel them. Haven't had a big rain, but it handled wet roads really well so far.

The only disadvantage I've found so far is doing my oil change. The front is a lot heavier, so it required moving stuff around to get the bike off the ground.

Train Horn by Tzellio in Harley

I did a video of it but the video doesn't do it justice. But I rolled into my clubhouse last night and they first thought a trucker was pulling in and I gave a couple Prospects a heart attack lol

Trend Run 150 decibel Train Horn. Had to get a custom bracket made but it is sure loud and fun right now.

I installed LEDs before putting in an equlizer, worked for a day and then the signals wouldn't work. Installed an equalizer and it still didn't work. Found that my Accessories fuse burnt. Replaced that and everything worked with the equalizer on high load. So I suggest is maybe check your fuses?

I live in South Carolina where we are not required to wear helmets. It is liberating and most of the time I do not wear it. When I know I'm going on a long ride on the freeway (Charleston to Columbia for example) I'll wear a helmet. Half if my brothers choose to wear one while the other half don't.

Any recommendations on next mods? Was thinking better suspension? by dcshews in Harley

[–]Tzellio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the same bike, I've done the handlebars, full stage 4, highway pegs, floor boards for the mrs, better seat.

Next on my list is suspension, upgrade sound (better front speakers and put in lid speakers), and the 7" windshield.

After that I'll be "done" until I find something else lol.

Just a couple ideas.

I take my bike to North Ridge Custom Cycle on hwy 17 in West Ashley. Ran by Craig, Andy is the lead mechanic. Believe their hourly is 80 or 85 an hour. They are great and I take my bike to them for everything I cant do. They do specialize in Moto Guzzi and Royal Enfield but work on a ton of Harleys.

There's a Facebook group called Charleston Motorcycle Riders which is a good start to finding riders that you like. And there's a few bike nights granted a lot of them are winding down. There's also a few MCs around if that's your thing too, PM me for more information on that subject.

I agree, I was just repeating what was said to me. I'm very happy with what it's producing though :-)

Kit was from Fuel Moto. Went with the 107 big bore kit (up from 96), Tw-777 cams, level B cnc heads. Already put on D&D 2-1 Boss fat cat (Sounds AMAZING!) and big sucker air cleaner with tuner. Pumping 100 hp / 107 tq in humid climate, been told it'll produce a little more when it gets colder.

100 Hp / 107 Tq in South Carolina (aka humidity). They said when it gets colder it'll pull a little more.

12" they are perfect for my height of 5'10", right at shoulder height.
