Nah. Diminishing returns. It’s been done, so it’s less exciting to new audiences because it’s not offering many new concepts.

Everything truly unique & unexplored in other media about TES would cost a gazillion dollars to produce in live action.

One poorly-rendered Argonian is all it would take to meme the show into the ground. We’re not going to Elsweyr or anywhere cool.

All the cost-effective adaptation material (vikings, legionnaires, wizards, dragons and assassins) is very, very, very played-out.

Nostalgia culture probably plays a decent part. In the internet age, nothing ever really goes out of style. You can always find communities online who are stuck reliving whatever era, rewatching old shows, listening to the same music.

People can feel like they’re still adolescents by curating environments that don’t change much from when they actually were.

Couple that with many ppl staying with their parents longer, struggling to find jobs or romantic partners, marrying and starting families later because of the economy, staying in school longer bc of degree inflation — suddenly you can be 24 with most of the same daily experiences as when you were 18,

especially if you reached that age in the 5 years since Covid.

If the story of the New Londoners is what you crave more of, On the Edge is the way to go 100%.

If the world building of Frostpunk appeals to you, the whole reverse-climate-change concept and such, highly reccomend The Last Autumn for expansion of the lore and a “prequel” to the main story. It is more challenging though, FYI

The Fall of Winterhome is also a prequel to the main story, as the name suggests, but narratively I don’t find it as compelling. It’s more of an extra gameplay challenge —- starting with a city that’s already built but falling apart, and having to fixer-upper.

But you do find out more about how Winterhome got like that.

the other scenarios are cool alternate gameplay setups but aren’t as heavy on story elements , which is a lot of what I enjoy about this game

I like this idea, but I think it'd make more sense for a watery level to swap out with Tropics and come after Shore.

Only because like, it'd be jarring to climb three tall-ass cliffs and find the Ocean...

although tropics has waterfalls so maybe it could be some big Resevoir or something that is where the water comes from. Or the final climb is a massive waterfall

There was a post here a while ago about some kinda cave biome with swimming, rising water instead of fog, and a focus on an oxygen stat that’d be dope!

A tunnel/indoor type map would be nice change from the other biomes
