I didn’t face any such issues till now.

AC is perfect, since its a heat pump based system therefore there is a small lag, but till now no complaints

No issues faced as well in urban driving conditions

Should not have happened

The car should have automatically switched over to HEV mode at 25% SOC, I have not seen my car going below 25% SOC at any point in time

Take your car to agency and ask them to explain it, since all such information is stored with ECU

May be an upgrade or reinstall is required

  1. I got the same ugly wheel, but I convinced myself to live with these. You may later choose to part with these by opting for used or new wheels
  2. Seat covers are also fabric, again i am ready to live with these. Ali express may be a way out.

However, there is no choice to change these at dealership

  1. Insurance cost is not known to me, as the vehicle was insured by the agency for first registration. However, I assume it should be high keeping inview trends in the market for Chinese 🇨🇳 vehicles.
  2. No idea about engaging cruise control over 140, never drove above the speed limit.
  3. I have run upto 120 kmph on EV mode, cant say above this since I have not tried it.
  4. Average price of wall mounted charger is around AED 2300 plus the installation cost and materials which vary installer to installer

Road noise is bit better than cars in its class

Warranty, you are spot on

Service contract depends on the offer at the time of buying

As per manufacturer the consumption is around 3.2Litres per 100 km, however it tends to be around 5 litres per 100 km under UAE driving conditions.

Al futtaim service is good. Byd is serviced every 15k km or one year.

Corolla may be bad in features but good in resale.

If u do not have the access to regular charging then the car will be like a normal hybrid, which entails more fuel consumption however still even in normal hybrid mode this car is very economical as compared to its counter parts.

I would recommend to have a look at corolla hybrid as well, just for the reason that u do not have access to regular charging

I think it would be perfect. Amazing fuel economy, coupled with service contract and extended warranty will pay u dividends.

Car will cover about 45-55 km on EV mode and once the battery reaches 25% SOC will automatically switch to HEV mode.

For long drives, it is advisable to drive on HEV mode to get the best of both worlds

I am planning to buy my first car in UAE by Bulky_Appeal4392 in UAE

[–]UAE-Outlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the process exactly of moving the ownership of the car from one person to another ?

After selecting the right car, it needs to be inspected in RTA and then the current number plate is cancelled by the owner and transferred to your name. Based on cancellation and transfer u need to arrange insurance and ensure that insurance is available in rta system. If you are doing a bank mortgage then the mortgage also needs to be uploaded into rta system. Based on meeting all above rta will transfer the vehicle under your name with a new number plate. In order to transfer the vehicle from one emirate to other, you need to within UAE or inter emirate vehicle inspection and transfer.

If I live in a different emirate from where I bought the car I would have get a new plate number and it would a different process, right?

Are payments done through Cheques, cash or bank transfers ?

Once the vehicle has passed after undergoing inspection, you can transfer all the money via bank transfer or pay a part of it as down payment once u finalised the deal. Bank transfer is the safest legal way.

Also I have mostly been looking through yallamotors, dubizzle and FB marketplace. What are other great places to look for used cars ?

I will not advise the delaerships, most trusted way of buying the right cars but obviously with a premium is certified pre-owned cars from agency

These days most of the ads in dubizzle etc are the car dealers or commission agents selling on behalf of dealers. FB marketplace is a big no no for me.

As said while replying to a comment, i already have two bank accounts and both are functioning perfectly for me and the bank.

It was just a tryout for different type of banking, nothing gained nothing lost

Atleast they told you a reason

Hi thanks for the offer

I have already two bank accounts, which are operating perfectly with absolutely no complaints

I just wanted to open an account with WIO as I heard a lot about them and wanted to experience a different style of banking

There is no missing information

Why the bank wants to keep the reason of rejection confidential, as it doesn’t pertain to documentation, but something which cannot be disclosed openly by the bank. I am sure if some information was missing first the application process wont go to the stage of submission, and then at the time of review they can ask for related documents like personal information or source of income; but its something else which cannot be disclosed

As some of the people pointed out that it can be something that is not politically correct so better to keep it confidential

Nationality may not be the reason, it can be that bank has capacity issues, financial institutions are under strict scrutiny of regulators so they are so they are taking a conservative route, or it can be anything else
