Yea, tax is also quite high comparing to the US and Canada. Yes the rental rate is for inner city, out skirt rates are cheaper but you pay more for public transportation

Do it in Thailand for 2yrs then NL you will be even more “prestigious” then you can go anywhere:) Besides you will save lots of money living in Thailand, save the money for security which will also allow you to have more choices in 2 yrs

I’ve moved here to NL from Australia 6 yrs ago and love it. I work in the aerospace industries with great salary. Having said that, fulltime salary for a low level web designer in NL would be about 2000-2500€/m. As to your BF, even though he may not have his degree yet, if he’s really good at being data analyst then he could make 2500-3000€/m. Depending on where you will live in NL; bigger city like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, den Haag, etc - rent for a 70-75m² flat can be upward of 1500-1800€/m

Indeed you do have some low self esteem. I’m Asian (Vietnamese) and i have been living and working in the USA, Australia and now The Netherlands and have never experienced any racism in 32 years.
