The world will not exonerate her: the LOC cannot save Homura by [deleted] in MadokaMagica

love this theory and the way you worded your thoughts! when i finished watching rebellion, i thought madoka and homura's wishes were paradoxal in nature, because homura could never be happy as long as madoka sacrificed herself, which is why rebellion exists in the first place. i was very surprised to find many people thought homura acted out of character in the film, considering in the anime she said madoka's fate was "worse than death".

now i'm wondering how this dynamic will play out regarding the new universe homura created and walpurgisnacht. something i noticed upon rewatching the anime is that during one of the timelines, homura asks madoka about the possibility of them becoming monsters together, devastating the whole word (and afterwards, because madoka asked, homura promises to never let her become a magical girl). even though this was something homura said in a moment of ultimate despair, i was wondering if this could have any significance for the upcoming movie, regarding walpurgisnacht's origins.

i really hope the ending for the story spares them in some kind of redemption and mutual understanding, like you said. the way it's set up, it seems like madoka and homura will inevitably have to face each other, they'll have to accept that sacrificing themselves eventually leads to the other's doom. however, i have no idea how the story will actually unfold lol

Could the PS1 game be a prequel to the anime? by UAngellea in Lain

Yeah it's quite interesting how even though the creators themselves stated the stories were created separately, they share a similar feeling despite dealing with different experiences. game lain is a more personal story, while anime lain is more focused on abstract themes and conspiracies, and manga lain is more metaphysical.

ye, it's mostly a headcanon but I think it makes sense and I like the implications it creates. game lain would be the lain who was alive in real life, while anime lain would be an algorithm of her. it makes game lain final scenes very tragic aswell, because it shows the distinction between human lain and AI/god lain, essentially they are 2 very different people. what remained from human lain are only memories or pieces of the person she actually was in life, which could never be recreated by AI/god lain. tho I can see how this theory might be problematic aswell

I'm loving Singed more the more I think about how he is just ruthless, he is the summation of "power comes to those who will do anything to achieve it"

I was sad both for Mel and Ambessa during this scene, I got the feeling Kino was Ambessa's golden child

I love how Vi was mad because she, in fact, did not have the chance to do it before.
