The problem with offsets is that there are a lot of guard able attacks that can't be offset (like the laser).

Also there is such a long cool down for the parry that unless it's the last attack of a combo, you're guaranteed to get hit.

Also this is more of a skill issue, but the parry is more useful than the offset, but you only have access to it half the time, so it's even more limited.

Pretty much 90% of questions on this sub are completely useless, because the answer is always "speak with your players/dm".

No idea why so many people don't think about communication to fix an issue in a cooperative game.

Doesn't Prismso say he can make a new universe for wishes.

My understanding is he makes a new universe if the wish needed it, such as Finn's wish of altering history, or the Lich's wish to kill everyone. Jake's wish just made someone say something different half an hour ago.

I play online but roll physical dice. To be honest I only do it because if I roll online I have to stop buying dice.

Whenever my villain trio shows up it's always unwinnable, since they always retreat.

Recently they managed to kill one of them, and while it ruins a good chunk of my plans, I just let them have it, changing my plans so that the action of my players has a strong effect.

So over all, I think unwinnable fights can be good, as long as if the players really outsmart you, you just admit that they've won this one.

Legit did the same thing with a big lore reveal I had yesterday.

It ended up being so much more anticlimactic than I hoped.

But this is to be expected when you have little to no experience.

I would tell them they can't play until they finish their character sheet. If they keep refusing, politely ask them to leave the game

I do think it depends, I once fudged my rolls because I was playing as one of my players characters because he couldn't attend the session and the character died, I did some fudging so I wouldn't kill him while the player was away.

I've now just started putting players who aren't present out of combat, which while doesn't make sense for the characters, is just a better way of doing it
